Thanks! I just created a Judochecker account. I really appreciate all of the hard work you have put in on all of these websites.

I'm sorry we had to close those sites a few years ago. A part of the v3 rebuilt plans of Beltchecker was that I wanted to bring them back, so I'm glad to announce that they are up and running again! 🙂 http://www.judochecker.com http://www.tkdchecker.com http://www.lutalivrechecker.com http://www.kenpochecker.com http://www.karatechecker.com (new) Or find them in the top left menu!
Potential problem there is lack of verified profiles. I also just updated mine to be sandan and so I lost my ability to vote for people that I previously had, which was probably out of order.

Are you considering personally seeding some verified people that you know and/or based on e.g. USA judo's (etc.) verified roster or pictures of profiles?

Just made a judo checker. I hope this takes off. Can Judo black belts claim their degrees just the same as BC?

Shit, I can't remember what I had for breakfast, now I have to try to remember the date I got my blue belt in karate as a kid and ask my patents for photo evidence.

No, there are different requirements than in BJJ for that

Unfortunately Judochecker collapsed yesterday because of a chain reaction after given points were deleted if the person who gave the points has to be reverified by himself.
A relevant technical question for all checker-versions:
Is it necessary, that once given points disappear during the reverification process, when the Person who gave the points acclaims a higher rank?🤔

That's the foundation of the entire system. If someone's profile loses verification—even temporarily—their votes must be disabled until their verification is back. Otherwise they can be verified, vote for someone, promote themselves 10 degrees higher and then their votes are instantly worth much more.

We will be pre-approving certain profiles on all the other checker-sites to seed the verification process. Same we did for BJJ in the beginning 🙂

Good point, Kyle. We have now pre-verified members with well-documented profiles on the sister sites, and pre-verified members are verified and can vote right away. Judochecker went from 14 to 97 verified members today, and you are verified again at sandan.

Thanks for pre-verifying us to get things started. I spent the morning voting for profiles on Judochecker.

Not the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed ❤️

Yeah all the sites really need a core group of people voting, in order to get things rolling. Will be interesting to follow!

Question for the website overlords?
On karatechecker, will there be a method of changing the belt promotion color structure if your school didnt follow traditional progression patterns?
My dojo went white, purple, blue, yellow, green, red, brown, black.
My understanding is that this is strange and unusual.
I, myself, am strange and unusual.
So, perfect fit.

Great question, and you are in good company: karate schools use all sorts of colour orders.

As of today Karatechecker handles that. Belts there are grades (10th Kyu up to 1st Kyu, then 1st Dan and up), and for each grade you pick the colour your school gives it. So white, purple, blue, yellow, green, red, brown, black works fine: your profile shows every belt in your dojo's colours, while votes and statistics compare the grades.

You choose the colour when you add a promotion: https://www.karatechecker[...]ionhistory

If your dojo didn't number its grades, count back from black: the belt before black is 1st Kyu, the one before that 2nd Kyu, and so on. Grades your school didn't use can simply be left out.

Strange and unusual is very welcome here!

Excellent. Thank you. I love the idea of this. Allthough i don't train in karate anymore my roots are important to me. Ill have to try to find all the documentation. We are going back to the late 80s lol. Prepare for some screenshot of Polaroids.
