Been in doing some sort of combative sports since 1994 got into bjj in the Army. Matt Larson would get Royce Gracie to come train what would be the first group of Army Rangers at Battalion, where i was at 1st batt to train in what would end up becoming the current combatives course. When i got out in 2000, i did a year of bjj under Steve Burger in St. Louis. Took a 10 year break for kids and life. Restarted bjj & jkd in 2015 under Jack McVicker who was "Megaton" Diaz first black belt, under Royler. Havnt competed since blue belt but hoping to get back in. Definatly harder as im in my late 40s but still grinding.
