So what's your drug of choice?

I have always liked stuff that have a story... Never been much into multiplayer stuff nor titles that are too light on story and heavy on gameplay.

But nowadays I think videogames as art and entertainment often too little bang for the buck - and not meaning money here but time investment. Yes, they are entertaining but compared to other forms of media or other activities theres much less to gain, less carryover into other capabilities while the factor of "fun" is actually not that much bigger.

That being said - I'm currently playing a minor indie title called Death and Taxes and also last years indie RPG hit Disco Elysium :) I think over time I'll finish both.

I am a run and gun game type although I have not played in awhile. Never thought I'd play video games in my 50's. Times are changing. I also liked that Portal game just because it was fun and you had to think.

Oh then DO try Portal 2! It's one of my favourite gaming experiences of all time :) Has held up to time well. Give me your Steam name and I'll gift it to you :) - I have an extra copy.

I'm not allowed to name the drugs I take until they are released for the market.
So just a joke OR are you actually a reviewer playing games before release date :D

Not a joke.
But if I'm not playing in the office then I can enjoy to play at home. My time killer / relaxation game is The Binding of Isaac. I generally like games where I can go in, have twenty minutes or half a hour, go out, because they fit my commute times.
Other recently played games are Breath of the Wild, Diablo III, and I played the hell out of the Shadow of Mordor games. Next in line probably the Metro games.

:) Maybe a time to get one. Anyway, whatever platform you have available, and Portal 2 should run on any computer newer than 5 years now (Mac or Windows or Linux)... Do it :)

I have the PS4 and I still have a couple of PS3's to stream Netflix when I get a chance to watch the boob tube.
My kids run games on their PC's. Been thinking of getting an Xbox but have been hesitant.

I´ve played around a little bit with the Spider-Man game on PS4, as well as the new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Both are very fun, but I haven´t taken the time to finish either. I definitely should!

On XB1 I just downloaded RE7, PS4 just finished God of War and Spiderman and am now finishing Doom 2018. On the switch I'm playing skyrim for the 100th time, the witcher 3, cuphead, gatorobato and I have a copy of Luigi's mansion 3 waiting for me.

I love my family, video games and BJJ lol

How stoked are you for Doom Eternal? It looks absolutely amazing.

As for me, I'm currently playing around with my Valve Index for the VR games, alongside Call of Duty Modern Warfare (especially Warzone), Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, and I'm about to dive headfirst into Animal Crossing and (whenever it comes out) Cyberpunk 2077. If anyone wants to squad up, let me know!

So, after not having had a console for 15 years, I literally just ordered a PS4 today because I saw the latest gameplay video from the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy VII. The original blew my mind back in the late 90s, so I decided I have to try this reimagining and see how it lives up.

I’m a former video game addict. GTA, Halo, and Call of Duty have taken up a big chunk of my life. I stopped playing when I decided to go back to school. This past Christmas break I tried playing again but couldn’t get into it. At first I was disappointed, but then I started thinking about how much time I had wasted. I’m sure I will try to play again at some point though.

Wasteland 3! In beta now, full release May 19th! But, I'm biased as my wife narrates the opening scene and has a major role in the game. She still gives me a hard time for playing too much though. Go figure... https://youtu.be/ojY_WT8B_gs
No kidding? I was a backer for Wasteland 2 and really enjoyed it. I might have to try out Wasteland 3!

I prefer story based games. I have limited time to game, so I need to feel like I'm making progress.
Looking forward to The Last of Us 2

I played God of War during lockdown and spent an afternoon playing Streets of Rage 4 as well :)

Earlier this year I got out the old copy of Portal 2 to play with my 13 y.o. son :)
The writing in that game is so good!

Almost 100% RPGs, generally pre-1994 or so. I'll play them for a few weeks once a year on my phone emulator, usually, so stuff like Amberstar, Menzoberranzan, Stone Prophet, Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and its sequel, etc. Sometimes some of the old Amiga ones on an emulator as well, like Barbarian II, Civilization (original one), Chaos Engine etc.

I picked up a phone version of Baldur's Gate recently, that's one of the few post 1994 games I'm interested in playing (I'd also be up for Diablo I and II, maybe Daggerfall or some of its sequels). I avoid anything modern, because I get way too easily addicted to that sort of thing. Hence why DnD with people is so useful: there's a built in time limit, because we only play together for 2 to 3 hours (via roll20).

Portal 2 is one of my favourite games of ALL TIME :) Check out Disco Elysium ;)
I tried Disco Elysium, loved it but somehow stopped playing ... pace was too slow maybe or I kept putting points in the wrong parts of my psyche making things really hard. Still an amazing concept.

Link to the Past is epic. My all-time favorite. Link's Awakening on Switch was pretty awesome and reminded me a lot of Link to the Past.

I heard they're going to make a TV series out if it.

Also there exists a supposedly good novel in the same universe. "Terrible and holy air"
