A word of caution regarding making your birth date public or IBJJF membership cards, etc

I don't mean to step on the website admin's toes with my advisement here, but:

I strongly recommend that people not put their birthdate on public display on this website or any other.

This includes not posting your IBJJF membership card, which has your birthdate on it, as one of your supporting documents, unless you fuzz or blur out the birthdate.

Having your full birth date makes identity theft much easier, and many of you have public social media profiles than could be cross checked against other public records,

thus making you rather easy targets for identity theft, credit cards taken out in your name, etc.

Self defense in all things, and all that...

Docs uploaded for verification purpose are private for sure. Just looks like a lot of folk are putting pictures of IBJJF membership cards, certifications etc. publicly available on their profiles, in order to proof legitimacy and get upvoted I guess.

Birthdate can be easily hidden from the profile controls.
