'Who the fuck fakes a Jiu-Jitsu belt anyway?' (51:20) - I've had two fake black belts come into my school in the last couple of years. Full of excuses as to why they can't roll hard, or roll at all in one case. Both guys 'got their black belts' from people I've never heard of and couldn't find online. The one guy that did roll was a decent blue belt at best. I had another guy come in and say he was a black belt in 'grappling'. People are funny. And by funny, I mean stupid. Good interview!

Its kinda of funny and furious sometimes when see someone got promoted but not up to that standard. I had seen people getting promoted to black belt but never join or win any comp in purple and brown. Its even funny when they cant even do a lasso or spider guard probably. It makes me doubt about the credential of his mentor.

I completely agree that standards should be met, but I don't see joining or winning a comp at ANY rank as a requirement for promotions. There are numerous people, including myself, that do not compete due to health or other reasons. Not competing does not necessarily reflect a lack of knowledge. Just my 2 cents...
