Should posting in the forum be for completed/verified/non-anonymous profiles only?

Today, someone with a completely empty profile, posted a YouTube video that was mildly uninteresting. He quickly disabled his profile and the topic was disabled with it, naturally.

It made me think, though. I really value this forum and feel like a huge part of why it is such a nice place to hang out, is that there are no anonymous profiles posting. More than 7000 posts and I think we have deleted one (based on advertisement rule). But there is nothing keeping anonymous/empty profiles from posting, as it stands right now.

Should we have a minimum requirement for posting here? Maybe just ID verification? (face+name) On the other hand, that would keep people from posting, who are genuinely confused and need help with the verification process.

Let me know what you think.

I advocate that all forums except the technical support forum be restricted to ID verified profiles only.

One of the best things this set of forums has going for it are both:

A) the comparatively high quality of BJJ / MMA / Grappling related posts due to the high level of black and brown belts who are posters,

B) and the level of civility.

I believe the civility is a function of four things:
1) No Anonymous Coward Trolls
2) Professional Respect and Professional Courtesy because almost everybody here are really grapplers, with a sizeable percentage being verified black belts.
3) The Site Owner / Founder / Admin specifically laid out the directive, "Keep it civil" and " no politics".
4) People like the civility, and find it a welcome change of pace to all the shit talk and more trashy forums.

Just my two cents.

In my opinion, having some form of basic ID requirement would minimize the risk of some anonymous firebomb tossing troll causing havoc. if you have an opinion, you should put your name behind it. Anyway, that's the way I see it.

ID verification now a requirement for any public forums, except the new technical support one :)
Excellent.

I am with it but also, pending profiles being able to post are a way to get to know people.

For instance, before I was verified, I tried to contribute to the forum as a way to get to know you guys. That quickly got people looking at my profile and Instagram which in turn got me verified.

Maybe a certain amount of info to allow the ability to post while pending.

For example, a verified photo, verified social media, and a completed bio?

I made a quick decision, the minimum requirement for public forums (except technical support) is ID verification, meaning people just need to verify their profile picture and their name :)

Looks good. You are doing great man! I really like your stance in general regarding this site, globetrotters, and the direction of Jiujitsu.

You have my support 100% and I would love to contribute in any way I can.

This is the most logical route. Allow the pending profiles after they are name/picture verified. As for example White Belts are automatically verified so it's the same thing basically.

I had never heard of beltchecker until a google search link to a forum thread here. My initial motivation for completing a profile was to be able to access the content I was looking for, so making that ID verification had some unintended positive consequence.
