Never thought I'd ask this but... How did you make your Grappling Dummy?

Oh, the shame.

Years of my life wasted, laughing at fools armlocking mannequin dolls in their basement. Or weird kung fu people hammering a wooden dummy.

Who's laughing now?

I bought one years ago and now I laugh at the home made ones. :-)

Arrange for your training partner to be raised on video games and TV,
And then go into university and choose an easy major without a lot of hard science, engineering, computational, or other useful math courses.
That usually does the trick.

Or have your training partner spend the bulk of their time training Jiu-Jitsu, watching TV, and playing video games.
That will also do the trick, in most cases.

That dummy is expensive especially for anyone outside the US. Been wanting to get that one as well but costs too much and the shipping is outrageous
I think this one can be crafted at home with some materials from the hardware store. I will keep you posted as events unfold.

I bought one many years ago. Didn’t use it much so I donated it to the gym. Wonder if I can go repo it?

TRIGGERED.

i have spend months building and searching for materials and thinking
at times i felt like a madman, i didnt even know if it was gonna work
but towards the end it all came together perfectly
i created a son. its like frankensteins monster...

sirs behold:

https://www.instagram.com[...]38e6hcqi0v
( i got a couple more videos with him on my ig )

hes got roughly 45kg i would guess and i made him after my own body proportions
you can even wristlock him ! he has a slight body tension kinda like a first time whitebelt who never did any sports, so you can do anything you want with him but it takes a little effort

but i would never wanna go through that again it was a challenge,
id want at least a couple thousand euros if i had to build it again

also i have extensive knowledge of human anatomy, i was always drawing human bodies mostly since im like 13
plus over a decade of jiu jitsu craze
and it really took all my knowledge to make this dummy as good as it is

so if you wanna build your own you really need to pour your heart and soul into it if you want it to be great

Amazon, 30 bucks....stuffed some old bed sheets and old clothes into it.... of course not a substitute to a real training partner, but under the given circumstances at least I can drill positioning, transitions and some submissions on that „dead dude“....

I've had one of the "Bubba Dummies" for a solid 10yrs. Was insanely expensive. He's near his last leg (literally). I bought one of the cloth outlines on Amazon during a sale one day for like $40. I filled him with old tees and packing material from a recent couch purchase. It was ok. So I thought I'd be smart and order some filling. I made such a mess with the filling and had a ton left over. I wish I'd just stayed with the shirt packing.

Today I just purchased a dummy that is suppose to stand upright for drilling takedowns. It also is coming unfilled. I will try and take my time and be smarter about stuffing this one. Since I want him to stand on his own I'm thinking of dropping some kind of weights in the feet to begin with. Probably had some pool noodles for the the arms.
