Inspired by the "whats your game" thread. What would you like to have in your arsenal that doesn´t work for you?
For me it´s a buttefly hook sweep to rule them all and a double leg with the ability to cover much distance.

HAH thought about this too. To this day i havent complete a bolo :( And how i mentioned before my recovery is bs. Even granbys without partner let me feel like beeing stackd sometimes.

A direct reflection of Marcelo Garcia. Is that too much to ask?
Yes just like I want my basketball game to be like Michael Jordan's

I would like to have more connections. When they defend upper body, attacking lower body, and vice versa. Basically keeping the offense going and not getting flustered by their defense and possibly starting to react to their game more.
From open guard that is achieved via K guard / bear trap all day :) (that's from outside guards) (Or the butterfly to lace from inside.)

Yup, majority of his entries are through short and long (he calls it) K-guard but at least in Estonia / Finland it's called the beartrap. Here's me teaching long bear trap in class in 2016. Learned it from Martin Aedma. https://www.youtube.com/w[...]&t=16s

(I didn't know about short version NOR the immediate availability of and attacking the outside 50/50 until Lachlan's ADCC run :) )

P.S. Where's Lachlan BTW... let's get him to join Beltchecker? Seems like he'd be up for this type of stuff...

Yeah the foot can post to different places, the goal is to force their weight on their hands (like in many sweeps and takedowns) so the leg becomes light. For that sweep or leglock entries it makes sense to eventually kick behind the buttock.

I’d love my game to look like Rafa Mendes.

That’s how I would like my game to “look”, but as I get older, although I’m making sure to keep up with all the R-guard, backside 50/50 leg entries etc, I’m really trying to bring myself back to a game that actually DOESN’T “look” as flashy or aesthetically pleasing to most people.

So basically (as cliche as it sounds) an old school upper body takedown game, crushing top pressure, mount, finish on top. If on bottom, never leaving hands unchecked.

I’ve been putting the work in toward it but it’s a balancing act because I do love playing “sport” moves too.

Back control and crusafix that gives everybody nightmares. Working on it but not the yet.
I like 1/2 guard but if I could get to the level of "well Dave has 1/2 guard now, might as well tap and get it over with" that would be nice...
Same thing for hooks/ butterfly guard...

Fuck it in with Matt, just copy and paste Marcelo and I'll be all good.
