What are some out of the ordinary solo drills you like to practice and why.

Im not sure if its out of the ordinary but ive ben looking at (and testing) Uchi Komi drills with rubber bands. If you look up youtube vids of Neil Adams you find a ton of them.
Uchi Komi is mostly a judo thing but its so good to combine with strength drills as well.

I've been doing a lot of grilled chicken/shell guard in my Zoom lessons, mainly because that's something I want to improve too. At the moment, I've got a spreadsheet, which I've been mixing around each time to vary things, while also trying to have certain things we work on every time (like shell guard stuff). :D
Ends up looking like this, though I'm continuing to play with the format: https://www.facebook.com/[...]307704932/
This is my list of solo drills at the moment, which I'm looking to add lots more to, so hopefully this thread brings up others:
Bridge up
Angled bridge
Bridge and shrimp
Shrimp to knees
Cross legs to knees
Turn to running escape
Turn turtle
Sit out from turtle
Sit out to panda
Running escape > turtle > sit-out > panda
Panda > running escape > shell guard
Bridge to knees
Power shrimp
Sliding shrimp
Grilled chicken circling
GC leg rotations
GC self frame
GC vs knee cut
GC to sitting guard
GC put it all together
Four corners
Tech standup
Scoot
Spider w/ belt
Lasso w/ belt
Back step
Butterfly sweep
I downloaded as many solo drills instructionals as I could find at the start of the lockdown, which reminds me to finish watching them all properly. I've also found some of the BJJ Globetrotters in Action videos really handy, especially Chris Paines 'Guard Passing' one (which despite the name has a lot of good guard drills for the person on the bottom).

Ooo: right on cue, noticed that goatfury put up a thread on the Underground saying his BJJ Path site would be free at the mo, where he has a section on solo drills. Nice! Checking that out now: https://bjjpath.com/group/45

I love using resistance bands for practicing judo throws. Seoi nage lends itself very well to that type of practice.

Daniel Bertina has some good resistance drills.

I've been doing a lot of ginastica natural, particularly the 'Tiger Routine' (link to Saulo doing it here) ----> https://www.facebook.com/[...]1608386388
Interesting, thanks for the share.
