So we have a first return negative vote in community. Also it's a vote that is based on criteria not connected to BJJ-related skills in any way.

Interesting times :)

I think this screenshot might be more useful for context. Sorry for the potato quality but I think you get the idea.

ah...why are you influenced with gossip about a person you don't even know is moral? Do you follow the virtues of Bushido? I did not know

And anyway no revenge! it is only to make the German friend understand that he should reason with his head! To do with San Tommaso maybe ... if I don't see I don't think.

Why not Christian ? I think I am being unfairly held up by people who do not know the facts and have not read my defense. A black belt should have responsibility and common sense and brotherhood ... instead of toning down a controversy has arisen where there were obvious personal issues not related to a degree of black belt.

While a downvote to be part of a group that goes against you, in which you know someone or, but you do not know the person they say wrong is OK?

I think there is a fundamental difference in downvoting based on skill/legitimacy and then on actions/personality.

But you're welcome to vote as you want - I don't make the rules. I'm just saying that I personally don't think this one is wise and it could backfire for you.

It is not wise to urge people to put me downvote. Just try for a moment to put yourself in my place, to be accused unjustly, to talk and talk about obvious things against bar chatter.

This is interesting.

The downvote that has been given has been awarded to someone who states 'I do not Know him personally' - How does this make his downvote any more legitimate than the One Cosimo has awarded?

To be honest, in this case I am surprised there has not been more 'revenge' voting.

For me if you are a black belt, you have to prove it inside and outside the tatami, in every single action. This is the message that you too write on your bjj globetrotters site. It's a moral sense of all black belts and that's right for me.

1) "I don't know him but people I trust say that he is not worthy of his belt rank"
2) "I don't know him and I think he is a bad person / annoying"

I agree, very interesting case of voting criteria and all something that was expected from the design of the system. I'm not mad! I just personally disagree, but maybe the entire community decides that we should vote on personality and then that's the law of the land :)

Rate a person / athlete in its entirety. If you have a black belt and you're not a moral example, you don't deserve it

Who are you to rate people in their entirety and based on what criteria you do it?
1 disputable comment in an internet site = not worthy of BJJ blackbelt status :D ?

And who are these people to evaluate me and question the word of a professor with 30 years of brazilian jiu jitsu?
I repeat, because you probably haven't read my previous post.
St. Thomas said, if I don't see I don't think so. So evaluate people from what you see with your eyes, not from what you hear in the gossip of their enemies; and still evaluate people for how they behave with you, not how they behaved with your friend.

Cosimo, I think it has been made very clear previously as well:

Those people not knowing you have not added nor given evaluations on your CHARACTER. No evaluations on YOU. However, they have doubted your BJJ skills and abilities - a thing much more related to being a BJJ black belt than any aspect of character.

Some people who claim to know you (fellow Italians) have commented on your character also and not in the best ways however they have also given a comment on your BJJ-related abilities.

Jorgen was born entirely from personal problems, he is a quibble to whom they are attached. Have you been attentive to other Italians who have commented on me and voted positively, also giving me compliments as a teacher and athlete?

This might be said about so many of us humans. Many, oh so many couples deal like this with their relationship problems. I'm sure as a psychologist, he would agree. But to call him quibble is a bit arsh.

Call it what you want, people who have never shared a tatami conme (and I'm talking about your Italian friends) how do you judge me? Always assuming that you can stand as a judge!

Francesco you too trusted what they wrote about me without ever knowing me in any form, trusting what others say.
If these others speak ill of your sister or brother or other close relative do you believe him? Come on, don't be ridiculous.

I mean... my parents might've had personal problems for sure but going there might be a bit uncalled for?

Cosimo, when you vote for someone, you are asked if you verify that an individual's profile information and promotion history is correct. It's not asking if you like or agree with that person. Based on this, if you don't disagree with their profile information or promotion history they have provided, your down vote is invalid.

Let's be balanced . . .

The same can be said for those people who downvoted Cosmio that openly state, I' do not know him but . . . '

Same thing goes for them, who rely on "not knowing me"
