Not as silly as voting for someone just because you don't know them and they look legit lol.

I'll bite....if someone is on my site, they are active on my a private FB group, they post on a regular basis, I converse with them, they are a paid member, they have shared their contact details, I see them on FB, and so on...isn't that more of a verified vote then voting for someone because they well..."look legit" which is a very comment criteria I'm seeing here personally.

Well, in that case. If you know so much about the person, it would be more beneficial to the whole community if you write a line or two about what you like about the person's game. Not just that they pay for your service.

It’s no different than you verifying people that you don’t know because they “look legit”. Which I’ve seen.

This is the “social project” that Christian has created and he mentioned that everyone can verify anyone based on their own criteria. That’s exactly what I’m doing.

Just like people getting profiles verified from a credit card. What if someone stole a credit card and used the persons name. It’s all subjective.

Let’s see how the social project goes shall we?

(Radio cackles): Suspects appear to be two white males,
reports of gunfire not verified.
Seems to be a pissing contest.
Send back up, possible charges of public urination at each other.
Also, bring doughnuts and black coffee, possibly some popcorn.

And me getting messages from 40 random people I don’t even know to verify them. At least if I know them from my site it’s more legit.

These people talk all the time on the groups I run and my site as well. I probably know of them more than many others who are verifying people.

It’s all just a fun little project.

Pretty much lol.

I mean let’s all play without people getting offended!

(Radio cackles): Altercation appears to be de-escalating.
Still, bring the doughnuts, and black coffee, just because.

At least i try to be transparent and say publicly what my criteria for upvoting are, in each case.

After the launch i upvoted a few strangers to get the ball rolling. Now I will refer to my Verification Flowchart (tm) for all future inquiries.

Maybe it's a different story if you have a financial relationship with the people you are upvoting. Never biting hands that feed you and whatnot.

But listen. I'm a grumpy hobbyist bjj dad from holland. Take it all with a grain of salt.
You do you man.

When you search for BBC so much that your phone autocorrects every time you write "b"
Yeah but in my case being the martial artist I am, it stands for “Black Belt Club” instead of “British Broadcasting Corporation”.

Ha ha ha - I'm always happy to be a member of secret British Broadcasting Corporation grappling groups. :D
