Here in France we still have the legal right to train.
A lot of discreet roll between friends but nothing official.
For the moment, no return to normal is planned.
How are things at your place ?
Have you had any contamination linked to training ?
Friendship to all the BJJ family from France.

i know a few gym are doing pod like group sessions. you get 5-6 people per group and they stick with those same people to train with. no cross training. so if something happens to be exposed it just that pod group and its shut down and they are out until tested and cleared.

Yes, I've seen it all over social media.
Some do like that here too.
I hope that the world situation will soon recover.
And that we will soon be able to resume training as before.

ive been in the gym and training with the same 4 people the past two week only. we all have to get tested by our primary jobs so we were all checked out before even starting this.

I actually hadn't heard of this before. I know some schools have imposed a maximum number of people allowed to train during a given class, but those slots could be filled by anyone on any given day. I like the concept of a pod.

In the region where I live near the cities of Cognac and Bordeaux, there have been very few patients, we have been lucky.
We are all looking forward to resuming training.

So in Germany it´s pretty tricky as each of our states is more or less independent on how to prevent the spread of CoVid and there´re many which allows to train but on the other hand there´re states which don´t allow contact sports at all till now. Professional fighters can get a special permission to train ( I think they had this option already in April) but the mandatory had to wait till end of May. Now some are able just to train outside or in small groups up to 10 people and others aren´t allowed at all (like me :( ) If you get caught while training it can get pretty expensive as the fines are also ruled by the states themselves and in my region it´s up to €25K fine for the gym owner if doesn´t stick to the rules...

25K € !!! it is very expensive !
Here in France we are not authorized to open JJB clubs.
But many train in small groups less than 10 people, once a week at least, to keep the reflexes.

Here in Western Australia we're back to training as normal. Our borders are closed and we only have 4 cases in the state

No legal BJJ group training yet in the UK, though interestingly the UKBJJA has managed to wrangle an Elite Status thing if you earn a living through competing, but from what I understand there are quite a lot of hoops to jump through.

Either way, I won't be stepping on the mats until it is legal again, I also won't open my gym until it's legal for everybody to train and spar. I don't really see the point of opening for solo drilling, we can already do that at home via Zoom (but I guess if it was legal to solo drill in distanced groups, I'd ask my students if they wanted to do that at the gym, just in case). There are some people back to sparring at the moment, under the radar, but I don't know anybody personally. It would be foolish to train in the UK right now, as you'd invalidate your gym insurance, on top of all the health risks,. ;)

I am anticipating we'll be back on mats in August/September at the earliest, it could also be much later. I wouldn't be surprised if we still were unable to train into 2021. Disappointed, but not surprised.

It was supposed to be September 1 here too. But they changed their mind last week, due to the covid cases curve decreasing so much.

Lets hope France can/ will do the same. Safetly first though. I will probable start somewhere half July. I am a bit worried about spikes. They let go of a lot of restrictions starting 1 July..
