Before all the gyms closed due to the Corona Virus, I was planning on visiting a nearby gym in a neighboring town for the first time. Now that pretty much all the gyms in the area have reopened, I'm hesitant on visiting new gyms.
What are your thoughts on visiting other gyms for the first time during the pandemic?

Personally I wouldn't. To be honest we are already gambling by going to our own gym to train, I fell like visiting other gyms now would just increase the ods.

Depends where you're at. Obviously it's safer to limit the amount of people one trains with, and it also makes tracking the possible infections easier.
In US, I wouldn't do it... (the gyms also might have a stricter visitor policy, if they're smart.)
In Finland however, we've had less than 10 new confirmed cases a day for a week straight nationwide, and I've already done it. It seems we'll also have competitions re-starting next month.

We wont allow any new or visitors for the time being to drop in as of right now either.
we want to keep this a contained as much as possible and now someone outside saying "fuck it" and getting everyone sick

Agreed. I was just curious to hear other people's views since gyms, camps, and tournaments are starting back up.

Hopefully you're able to make your camp. I just saw a couple days ago that gyms were being shut down again in Maimi.

My gym is not allowing visitors or trials yet. However they are excepting new students who sign up for a full membership.

Are they allowing people interested in joining to sit and watch a class or 2 to get an idea of what they are signing up for?

Membership can be canceled with 30 day notice, we have no long term contracts. I have not seen anyone watching classes. I doubt he would allow it but don't know for sure. And surprisingly enough we have had a few new people start training.

i dont know why this is hard to grasp. So they can sign up right off the street ( not know what they are signing up for) BUT they cant sit in and watch to check it out? So are the people organic or are they transplants from other gyms?
Just a thing that you might want to watch out for beside the health issue is the drop out rate ( if the instructor is paying attention) , we give people trials for 2 week with no membership, so they dont feel any type of obligation to the gym. we ( I ) even encourage new people to try out other gyms in the area before signing a contract. we arent about numbers in our place, we are more like a family.. and the funny thing about that is. That every gym with in a 20 mile radius, has a personal friend thats an instructor at each gym so i give them a heads up before they go.. We grow as a community .. its not all about money and numbers...

It’s because of the virus that trials and and visitors are on hold. Hopefully things will be able to resume to normal soon. Currently classes are limited to 14 students and I haven’t seen a full class yet. MWF is a drill class and we do solo drills. TWS you are o my allowed 1 training partner the entire class and have to wear a mask. I have only only gone back to drills class for now. I feel very safe at my academy. My schools is very clean and I’ve never had any problems with any of the students or visitors.

Come to the Estonia camp in October. I am just hoping they let Americans in by that point. I had to rebook my flight through Russia just to get a flight booked to Estonia for in October Ugh.
