The first one is a takedown from the knees that Royce showed me 25 years ago. While takedowns from the knees are a somewhat taboo subject, I feel one like this is has a lot of carryover to the feet and vice versa.

Thank you for sharing that, I also noticed your shin was placement into his which sucked up the space for a tighter armbar also...that lapel control and placement is good stuff sir .. thank you

Thanks. It is tough. I wanted to do longer videos with more details, but it seems like the longer the video is, the less people want to watch it. Kids today...

Very true, but I would love it.. working my way back after injuries these days is slower, but my attention to detail is so much more focused. Again thank you for sharing

You can also easily add the videos to Beltchecker from your profile (Edit profile -> Instructional videos. Simply copy/paste the YouTube link and add a Title & a Category). This way people can find them also via your profile and the Instructional video library on here.

I’m often disappointed by my own low attention span.

Yeah. It is pretty powerful. I also use it from the feet. It can keep a guy from sagging his hips back and pull him into a variety of sweeps, throws and leglocks.

Yeah: sadly I do the vast majority of mine on Facebook and Instagram, not a fan of YouTube. But once I get to black belt I'll start putting some on there, probably.

Looking forward to seeing more of yours, Josh. Especially if you cover stuff like kimura, maintaining side control etc: I'd love to see some old school details on those (as side control is my happy place, I always want to learn more about it). :D

I have a bunch I and the other instructors made. Shared some with Tatu and William Murphy. Don't know if they are good or not you'd have to ask them Lol. Not on youtube though. We have an app for our students and have them on there. We have videos for our Fundamentals Program and Intermediate to Advanced. I guess I'll tranfer them to youtube eventually.

I'll have to give the belt grip a try. I've never really thought about grabbing my opponent's belt from that position.
Damn I miss Machado Kimonos! Even the hybrid Gi they made was awesome.

Cool, I'd love to see your technique vids! Hopefully you stick them on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or wherever at some point. :D
