I wanna see the cringey BJJ stuff Zuckerberg and co. tried to sell you after mining your data.

I'll go first. Is this shirt showing a board being broken?? I guess it's two crosses but it sure looks like a fist punching through a board.

Pretty much any thing that shows how tough I am because I train. Tap, nap or snap etc gear.

Yes I agree...I see it all the time. Makes me laugh. Especially when I see the obviously out of shape heavy set mouth breathing smoker wearing the gear and trash talking. Lol

Ha - Facebook gave up selling me those kind of shirts a long time ago. Now it mostly advertises guinea pig merch and 1980s nostalgia, both MUCH more likely to tempt me. Hence why I have adblockers. :P

I've pretty much stopped buying merch from Facebook ads, period. Too many Chinese companies with weird portmanteau names selling cheap knock-offs of designer stuff, and when their crap turns out to be crap, they tell you it would cost more to ship it back to China and they won't refund you if it gets lost, so you might as well keep it. Plus Facebook lets companies delete negative comments on their ads, so the businesses that advertise there can't be trusted.

I just laugh at how oddly specific some of their ads are.

They keep trying to sell me a sweatshirt that says "I'm just an Alaska girl in an Illinois world." Which is technically true, but a really strange thing to put on a shirt!

It's worse than that, the one purchase I made off Facebook ads was a total scam, i.e. no product, they're just taking your money. I had to change my credit card after that idiotic mistake. Weeks after I reported the scam, the ad was still running, despite all the negative reviews etc.

Yeah, there's a lot of dodgy crap on Facebook ads. However, you do very occasionally get good stuff, though admittedly my hit rate was about 2 out of 12 (before I finally stopped myself buying nonsense from there ;) ). E.g., I got a cool Labyrinth t-shirt and a nifty multi adapter plug (which I've been using at camps for the last 2 years now, IIRC).

Now if somebody made a *hamsters* and jiu-jitsu shirt, I would buy the shit out of that.

Ha: wouldn't surprise me if Seymour had put something like that out on his Meerkatsu brand. He's a friend of mine, will have to see if I can convince him, if he hadn't done hamster and/or guinea pig BJJ yet. He has an arm(bar)adillo one I bought a few years ago. ;)

Especially as at least one of those images isn't original and I expect the designer isn't aware it's being used there.

These are spats with, um... cartoon male anatomy drawings on them. I can't decide if that's really cringey or really AWESOME. (I'm posting just the link and not the picture, don't click if my description sounds like something you wouldn't want to see.)

I mean, I kind of want them just so I can say I own them, but I wouldn't know where to wear them (other than under a very long skirt at church, obviously).

Ha ha ha - I can think of at least three people who regularly go to camp who would TOTALLY wear those. I shall send them the link. ;)

Ha - you can ask them yourself. I have a big group chat, which basically consists of "cool people I've met at camp or chatted to online and think are cool." I can add you to that, if you're a group chat kinda person? :)

Yay! Added. Be warned it's a pretty active thread, so there may be quite a lot of pinging from your phone (depending on your Facebook notifications settings). :P
