Have you ever rolled with a young prodigy?
I have never had the opportunity to do so but it looks like they keep popping up here and there.

I was competing at AGF - Nationals last weekend and there was a young man (14 year old orange belt) who submitted three black belts. He went on to win the Pro Challenger Series (175lb division) that day.

I absolutely love the fact that this kid won in the manner that he did. It's just mind-blowing. This guy beat a guy who toys with people who toy with me (granted I am just a blue belt).

Link below for the article on the kid.

Only national level prodigies. I hate them. I rather fight/spar with a 30-year old 2nd degree black belt competitor than a Juvenile green belt competitor any time. Some of those kids have close to 10 years of training by the time they turn 15, plus all the attributes associated with youth...

One year at the Euros in Lisbon I was training at a tiny local gym few days before my fights and the Mendes Bros appear with their juvenile team. I refused rolls because I wanted to save the fractions of my confidence prior to competing (I was already Master 2 then), then watched the children completely pick apart my teammates.

I've got some kids training with me who will be. A couple of 8-9 year old super athletes who are going to absolutely put it on some dudes by he time they are 15.

This one kid taught himself to do backflips at 6 years old, and can just rip them out like crazy. He just turned 9 a couple of months ago. He's insanely strong for a 9 year old. I've got a 10 year old who has been wrestling since he was 5. We're currently tuning him up to make a run at a national title next year in wrestling, which will include doing a bunch of BJJ tournaments in the off season.
