Just wondering how how many gals are on the website. Are there any women's only camps you guys regularly attend that you would recommend? I am signed up for the upcoming AZ camp.

One of my students has done two women’s only camps nearby (VT), and she raves about it. I will ask her about more info, or when she isn’t sick currently, get her to sign up

Hi Mikayla! I just found out about this site and signed up so I could tell you about the Roll Model camp :) If you're on facebook, the event is here:https://www.facebook.com/[...]508555776/. This is my 3rd year going and it gets better each year. AJ puts an insane amount of work into it and last year there were 120 women on the mat! I've also been to several Groundswell Camps which are fantastic, so keep an eye out for those if they come back. Sophia McDermott also often hosts women's retreats, and she's one of my favorite instructors. Hope that helps!

I’d love to do one of Sophia McDermott’s camps. The Girls in Gi events are incredible. It was absolutely incredible having so many share their experiences and jiu jitsu knowledge. There is also women’s only events called Pretty Dangerous that occur throughout Florida

Have done a few Girls in Gis seminars. They’re always fun.

I also own a few Fenom Kimonos and bought hemp belts from them to support women’s bjj that way.

Their Facebook group always posts upcoming seminars in different areas, so that would be the first place you should check. They are free to attend and donation-based if you feel like you would like to contribute to the organization.
The ones I’ve gone to have good attendance, good rolls and are about building community among female grapplers.

Hi, I don't know about 'gals' but I think I am one of the only orange-belt girls on here. I haven't done any girls-only camps. @Abi, do you know if Emily does any close to us that would be appropriate for me?

Emily's school is in Princeton, NJ so not far. She occasionally has things going on there however she just had a baby so likely taking a little time off

I'll be at the AZ camp in March (I'm the camp yoga teacher). Come find me at open mat for some rolls.

I'm necro'ing this thread. No reason. Just feeling left out.
Love it! It’s definitely a male dominated sport so it is always nice to see women who do jiu jitsu

I was going to be at Arizona camp but UK travel restrictions stuffed that one up lol. Fingers cross for Poland and all that.

Female fighters camp mentioned already is the main UK one - I'm one of the camp minions so any random questions and I may be able to help.

Outside of the UK - Shanti's camp is on my hitlist just need sufficient brownie points to leave my hubby for the weekend (mainly cause he knows I'll be learning fun stuff).

I've also been to a Girl in Gis seminar when I was in the US with Sophia and she was amazing and the organisers were really lovely.

Hi there! Thought I'd try to be a more active BeltChecker community member and OF COURSE the ladies' thread seemed like the best place to start. :)

I'm going to the BJJ Globetrotters camp in Maine this June. It'll be my first BJJ camp, so I'm pretty excited to roll with more ladies and more people than the 6 folks in my quarantine training pod (grateful for them, but one year with only six people is a long time!).

Also hosting our first camp here at my (&my husband's) school in Asheville called Camp Grappalachia over Labor Day weekend. It's listed in the events section on here. Would love to meet folks from here in person! We're still getting confirmations nailed down, but hoping for a good number of female instructors on the roster!

Welcome to the forums! (Or welcome back to them, whichever. :-) )

I wish I could make it to the Maine camp. Hopefully next year!
