Had a friend (brown belt at the time) show me a variation of this one back in 2015, but with that one you simply pull their arm straight while you still have them on your back and rotate their elbow into the proper orientation.

An old school judoka out our club does a variation on this all the time. I prefer your version though, nice!

Nothing is new
Yep, this. Humans have probably been grappling since before we came down from the trees, so I am fairly certain that at this point, everything you can possibly do while wrestling with two arms and two legs has been done at least once. ;)

So, best you can hope for is rediscovering or modifying something somebody else has done. And/or be like Priit, Eddie Bravo, Danaher etc and be especially good at systematising and popularising sets of existing techniques.

I saw this posted on Lutalivrechecker yesterday :) No-gi version, but pretty much the same. https://www.youtube.com/w[...]e=emb_logo Every time I think I've discovered something new in Jiu Jitsu, I end up finding it in some 1902 Judo video on YouTube :D
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Now I just need a translator.

Judo had everything in their books back in the day. Like you, I'm rediscovering old moves. I guess we're all really Judokas with sh*t takedown.

I have an armbar I've been hitting when people have my back. Is this new, or did I independently find it? If it is a move already, are there any resources that exist. Here is a link of me demoing it for you.. Thanks! https://drive.google.com/[...]p=drivesdk
we drilled it with my son at home yesterday, good stuff!
I like the no-gi version Christian posted too.

So now when someone has my back, I have options for armbar on both hands;
- straight armbar a la Sakuraba if your arm is over
- straight armbar a la Garry if your arm is under

So I am finding that guys are weary of trying to sink grips now and its making back escapes more available. We are keeping count at our academy of how many taps we've got with it. We are at 10 since I discovered it last week. I'm trying to work out kinks and dangers of it. I'll keep you all informed. Thank you all again!

dozens times i "discovered" techniques and devellop it from myself.... but finally figured out a guy made a youtube videos X years ago about it :-D

this lead me to think like you said.... 1head two arms and two legs, wrestling for 10000 years...what can be really knew ?

this is the last exemple

i hit this for 5-6 years now, inspired by a move that rafa mendes did.....i was proud as hell....but :
