some white belt bragged on the BJJ Fanatics fb page about tapping out a purple belt with a choke from the back, going into great detail about the 'micro adjustments' he made to finish it and really relishing how 'reluctant' the purple belt was to tap.

The longer I'm in the game the more I realize how true the belt level cliches are. White belts typically act like white belts and blue belts act like blue belts and black belt act like bored magicians.

I always tell the guys to stop wearing a cup. It impedes your progress
After a few years your nuts develop precognition. They learn to move out of the way. Then it's not a problem
And on the rare occasion you DO get hit in the nuts, you're desensitized to it, so you just keep rolling with no pause...

I agree with not wearing a cup, also there are more then one way to do a really good armbar that doesn’t involve crushing your nuts. If this is happening to you then you should do some research on how to do a better armbar.
