How often have you encountered a case where a coach refused to confirm a student's belt? We are not talking about this Internet resource. it's about what's happening in the real world outside of the Internet.
It happens that the teacher gives the belt to the student. After some time, the teacher and the student diverge (they are separated for one reason or another. Not important). And after a while, the teacher is no longer ready to confirm the legitimacy of the student's belt. Let's say you are not ready to confirm the certificate or the belt. A confirmation is required to participate in the competition.
Example 1: A coach and a Student worked (as employees) at the same Academy by invitation. Both served as coaches. The teacher handed the brown belt to his student, but did not issue a certificate. ( In Russia, in principle, the issuance of certificates for the belt is not a common practice. No one cares about the paperwork in Russia). The "teacher" has an excellent relationship with the employer. The student's relationship with the employer did not work out. As a result, the student leaves the place of work. Later, the student needed a certificate to participate in the competition ( Brazilians love paper). But the coach refuses to sign the certificate, inventing reasons. What should a guy do?
Example 2-A loyal student has been studying at the academy for 7 years. The new belt is handed to him not by a local coach, but by the head of the Academy (a foreign teacher who visited his branch). Later, the "student" is promoted to the position of coach. excellent. But things happen at work. when the "employer" does not agree with the employee. The question is in the financial side of the issue, etc. As a result, the employee leaves the academy. Later, he will need confirmation of his belt. Let me remind you that the belt was presented by the CHIEF PROFESSOR (a foreign student living in the United States). But he is "not ready to confirm it", in fact, renounces HIS ACTIONS, sending him to bow to a local coach-a former employer? And what to do in such a situation? How often do such cases occur at all?

I have heard about this more than a few times before. Childish behavior to "take back" a promotion like that. Community verification is a healthy antidote.

This happens more often than people think. These kind of instructors need to get a grip and check that power tripping ego.

This is why it's important to DOCUMENT your promotions. Take pictures, keep them, post them on social media for posterity's sake, compete (and win) at each belt level, take pictures of those events too. Then it becomes undeniable.

Everyone takes photos of their promotions. And someone and the video. But AJP requires a certificate, not a photo:((

I think it's BS and I have seen it many time s and I hate that whole attitude.. If you take back a promotion that is like saying I give out BS promotions.. If I gave you rank and let's say I threw you out of the gym for some reason.. I would just say yes I promoted him to X belt but he is no longer with my team..
What am I going to do suck the knowledge out of his brain..

of course, all this eastern game with belts is certainly interesting, but sometimes it comes to strange things. Everyone has probably heard about SAMBO? Here in SAMBO there are no belts. In Russia, there are no belts in sambo, kickboxing, boxing, GRAPPLING (UWW) etc. There are "ranks". ""Master of Sports" , etc. And these titles can not be obtained for years of training. Only by winning the tournament. But. as my friend said, " With belts - more fun than without them" :)

Damn, does AJP honor IBJJF IDs? I was hoping to compete at that post-covid.

Always respected Russian sport methodology with that although even in Sambo they started giving Master of Sport to people who really didn't compete at a high level as commercialism in the west tends to affect everything that finds it's way here

Oh! I completely forgot! In SAMBO, they plan to introduce a belt system. however, it looks a little funny. But symmetrical

but I do not know of any cases where the title of master was given to a person. who did not perform. In general, the title of Master of sports of the USSR was a great title. An increase in the pension, by the way:)

For purple , there is definitely enough competition. but the browns and blacks in Russia do not really like to compete

One of my life goals is to compete, somehow, somewhere, at the magenta belt level...
