Just thinking of an extra incentive to buy the certificate and support the site.

Please accept my apologies if this is already the case.

But, what about you don’t lose your votes when you are promoted if you have been verified and have the certificate (or ID card for that matter) for your current grade ?

When you earn a new belt all the folks who voted for you are automatically notified to re-vote for you and your new grade.

That would mean you could just pay for a certificate and then fake a belt promotion that would be automatically verified. Wouldn't make sense :)

This is true, but in looking at different profiles I often find that they have not been online in many months, so you may expect a delay in the recertification process. With that said, keeping your votes would be a benefit, but as Christian pointed out, this would go against the purpose of the site.
