I tried to do a live "lineage" visualization of all connections between coaches and students but even with this small user base, it completely crashed the browser haha
A shame, could've been fun to have!

What did you use for drawing the graph? https://github.com/anvaka[...]ivaGraphJS seems to be able to handle very large graphs like this US Power Grid example with ~5K nodes and ~7K edges http://www.yasiv.com/grap[...]SpowerGrid

Used something shitty but have a few other options to try once I have time. I’ll put your suggestions on my list!

Yes, that might be a pretty CPU-intensive task for a server, but only if it is being performed each time a client calls it, and with some dependency on the algorithm employed.
Forgive me if you already thought of this, but an alternative approach is to run a CRON job once a day that generates the image in background, then the stats page just presents that image, rather than running analysis each time someone calls the page. This would probably reduce the CPU load to negligible.

You could do a lineage visualization on the user profile. This way you only see that particular user's lineage.

Looks super cool. Would be fun to see something like that in the future.
