I am having a surgery in June. I will be recovering for awhile and will be jitsu free for at least 6 weeks. Be confined to a bed for the first week. Then limited mobility until I can adjust to more. But unfortunately I will have an abdominal catheter (yay!) so most rigid movement will be very limited the first 10 days. Doc says I should be able to walk distance with a couple weeks and may even be able to run after maybe 3 or 4 weeks.
I am going to go insane. Any advice for physical activities?

All depends on what surgery you're having. Take your time and rest though, 6 weeks is really not a lot. Too many people rush back after surgeries and re-injure themselves.

6 weeks will go by fast. Take the time to heal properly.
Depending the the surgery you can be somewhat mobile with other parts of your body even while you are stationary.

Rock climbing!! 3 months with the pins in my hand. Another 3 months of physical therapy after the pins came out!!! Lost a lot of mobility in my wrist, but have adapted nicely!!

For the acute phase of healing, just relax, and watch netflix or learn to play an instrument or something. It's not gonna be much time at all. 6 weeks shouldn't be bad either.

I’d do just enough to not get bedsores. There’s not many things more heartbreaking than re-injuring yourself, because you didn’t give your body enough time to heal.
