Yes, but I make half of what i did in construction. It's barely enough to make it from one month to the next.
It would not work if I had a family, or had anything resembling normal life outside of BJJ.
Quit my normal job about 3 years ago.
I run two academys in different towns.

What type of space are you in? Are you renting something or are you in a community type center? Is your business non-profit?

I did for around 15 years in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rented a space in a large sports complex.
Were you able to do it as your only source of income?

We rent the space.
Before covid, rent ate up 50% of all revenue, right now almost all revenue goes to rent.

Lucky my country have solid compensation for covid lock downs.

The business is for profit. Before covid we got no support from government.

Any European BJJ gyms owners out there making a living off the income of your gym?
Yes, even now during covid and being restricted to Zoom classes since March 2020 (though yeah, there have been several govt grants which have helped). I started my gym in Bristol (England) at the start of 2014, when I was still working part time at an office job.

As the class sizes increased, I added more classes, then eventually a bigger venue. That built up into multiple classes per day at a reasonably sized mat space, meaning I could quit the office job and go full time with BJJ in October 2018. I have made a (small) profit from day one, as I've kept my overheads in line with income.

Thanks Slideyfoot! I'm trying to get a feel for how successful a BJJ school can be outside of the USA

Depends a lot on the country, but it is definitely easier in some countries than others. E.g., Germany AFAIK (from what my German gym owner friends tell me) offers a lot of govt subsidies depending on the specific status you apply for, making it much harder to make a living purely from BJJ as there are so many very cheaply run gyms as a result.

In England, totally possible, I am one of many examples.
