Im not sure if this post is allowed (if not I will remove it).
I am going to be in Italy for the next 2 and a half months and was wondering if any of the Italians (or others) on here have any recommendations. I will be staying in Udine area. Mainly in Basaldella, Pradamano, and the Bibione and Grado beach areas. Im going to be there for a while so I would like to fine a place or places to train once or twice a week. Are BJJ gyms open in Italy?

thanks for the help

Yes, the gyms are currently open! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone around there. I am in the south, a thousand kilometers away. If you ever happen to be in Puglia it will be a pleasure to host you on my tatami.

I was actually in Puglia in 2019. I was there for 2 weeks. I was around Lecce. If I knew about this site I would've posted the same question and found your gym. I am glad the gyms are open.

If I go to Italy, I am not sure that training would be on my mind.

Too much to see, too much to taste, too much good wine to drink.

I might not still fit into my pants by the time I rolled out of Italy, but if I was able to, it would not have been because I did not try my best not to.

I always train when traveling. Jiu Jitsu is such a good ice breaker that I typically find one or two guys that takes us under their wings and point us to things that are off the beaten path or, in some cases, have taken us to their home for a meal so we spend a little time emersed into the culture AND it has the extra benefit of being able to fit into my clothes.

Tribe Jiu-jitsu Italy has clubs all over Italy.

I have trained in several gyms in Italy, both small and big teams and i have always had a good time. Great country!

I found a really good place to train called La Fenice. It is in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. They are mma oriented. I went on the no gi grappling day. They asked me to show some moves, since I was a visiting black belt, which I gladly did. Slight language barrier since my Italian is below average. But I was able to show some moves and they got them. Then we had lots of rounds, which I love. I rolled with everyone several times. When I am back in Friuli I will go there again.

@Francesco I was able to contact Marco and train with him. Thanks a lot.
