Hi, One of my students (a female whitebelt) has moved back to Kraków. I was wondering if anyone know of a legit school there that wont sexually harass her as she is quite quiet and timerous?

Holy crap.....that last part is awful! I would HOPE that a gym where a woman would get sexually harassed would be the outlier and not the norm! Like this:

"I was wondering if anyone knows which schools aren't legit or that might sexually harass her as she is quite quiet and timerous?"

But I don't know what timerous means so I would have not used that term. But man, phrasing that way makes it sound like you're expecting Poland to be full of sexual predators!

I think Gorilla has a location in Krakow. I've visited the location in Warsaw and they were a great group of guys. It seemed like they had a fair amount of women in the school which is typically a good sign.

Thanks Guys.

Joemoplata, no i'm not expecting Poland to be full of sexual predators, i'm expecting Polish BJJ gyms to be full of men; of which some of whom will be sexual harassing towards females. The best indicator (to me) of a gym that women are respected on the mats are gyms with a good amount of females train at. Only a fool would deny that BJJ is not a male dominated activity and having coached all my life I know for a fact that when there are minimal woman in a predominantly male environment, then male interest in those females is maximised. Therefore I would prefer knowledge of gyms that have a fair number of females that train there.

Sean Brandle, thank you for this. I'll let her know. Thanks for your advice. Its very much appreciated.

I wasn't expecting such a serious response....I somehow feel deflated.

Joemoplata - Hahaha : No I mean no offence. From your response you said "phrasing that way makes it sound like you're expecting Poland to be full of sexual predators!". I thought I would be clear in my intent. I have been to Poland and its a nice place.. (and I would imagine it has an equal amount of sexual predators as anywhere else). I know and train with many polish men and the culture that they come from (and again this is just my personal experience) is one where they like to have a clear distinction between men and women. Men are stereotypical 'manly men' who work out hard with weights, while the females like to be seen as feminine (Even in spite of the skills in destructive arts). So the men (certainly the ones I know) have an eye for the women. Its very black and white. On that note, in my own gym, we only have a few females and the men are always sniffing about them. The girl in question is ... timorous 'nervousness and lacks confidence.' so if I were to be given advice for her to visit an average gym full of average polish men; and my experience of martial arts gyms, polish men, and nervous women are accurate, then I would hate to suggest this to her. So I thought I would be clear in what I mean. I was defo not being cheeky in any way so no need to feel deflated :)
