So last night I was teaching the fundamentals class. I decided on teaching double legs, the simple way. Since the class has a lot of white belts, I kept it as simple as I could. Started with the takedown without standing up, i.e. drive them to the ground from the knees, then slowly working to more complex situations when they sprawl, how to sprawl etc.
I notice this new white belt girl doing things surprisingly well. But then after I show the sprawl, followed by move to the back, she comes to me and politely says that what I'm doing is prone to takedowns! I got corrected by a noob white belt. Turns out, she's an olympian lol. I taught a double leg class ... to a friggin' olympian! Needless to say, I don't even want to think about the amount of things she must have been wincing at while I was teaching.
Anyway, I picked the hell out of her brains after class. There are levels to this shit.

That's pretty cool (that she's an Olympian and was in your class) and that's cool you got to pick her brain.

I hope I can do it again (pick her brain), but who knows if she will come back after seeing my old man jiu jitsu double legs.

If she sticks around, you could recruit her to do a wrestling class

I'll start by making her teach takedowns whenever she shows up. Her front headlock to ankle pick is really pretty damn sweet.

Add submissions to the mix and she becomes just another noob. :D High caliber wrestlers are a great addition to any gym.
