Playing around sifting through the stats page and I see both Luiz Palhares and Ken Gabrielson as verified members. That’s huge. Both men are legends in this sport.
My first instructor, Dartanian Bagby, got his black belt from professor Gabrielson shortly before I started training, so his name was passed around reverently for much of my younger Jiu Jitsu life. And everyone knows of professor Palhares.
Anyway, just wanted to give Beltchecker props for landing some big Jiu Jitsu fish.

Neglected to mention Chris Haueter above. Another legend and “Dirty Dozen” member sharing Beltchecker with us. Probably not news to everyone here, but I’m elated to see it.
Just my opinion, but guys like these give Beltchecker the level of legitimacy that might ultimately allow this organization to become more prominent than the IBJJF. Jiu Jitsu needs a non-biased (read: non-IBJJF) body to regulate this sport. Beltchecker, or something like it, could step up and fill that role in the future.
