Does anyone have a mat room at their house? I'm looking to set up a space for 5-6 people to drill and roll. Anyone with advice on what mats to get, equipment that would be useful, how much space I need, and most importantly, how to keep the lady in my life happy despite devoting an entire room to BJJ would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure if this helps your specific situation, but I have Matsuru 10'x10' roll out mats in my apartment. (Here's a link to them: https://matsuru.ca/collec[...]ts-10-x-10). They're just big enough for two people rolling. They also take up my entire living room.

I have a hodgepodge of mats spanning 24x12 in my basement and it allows for two matches going simultaneously without having to reset every few seconds. When we get three matches going it’s seriously crowded.

Whatever you do, don't cheap out. Get quality mats and make sure that if the room has drywall, you protect it with mats or some kind of barrier.
It will be less of a pain in the ass than having to replace drywall here and there and cleaner too. Lol
Check out this previous thread on the subject.

I like 10'x10'x1.25" or the 12' x 12' Dollamur FLEXI-Connect® Martial Arts Tatami Mat (space permitting). Dollamur will likely have a 20% off on their dollamur.com page soon, or in the future. They have a discounted store on http://ebay.com/str/dolla[...]stlingmats
Those are mats that have slight mistakes or were ordered and never picked up, etc

I'm a fan of puzzle mats for home use as they store up nice when not in use. I have some 1" puzzle mats that I can easily toss in my car and bring places. I also have a 10x10 Dollamur roll up in my basement that I like.

I have 18’x22’ dollamur mats in the garage I got off ebay from the dollamur store. They usually have various sizes available. I clicked the “make an offer” seems like their reserve price is set at 30% less than the buy it now price.
