COVID is hitting us hard here in NYC. I’m a physician in the Bronx and the hospitals are filling up again. Please be safe everyone. Don’t ignore mild symptoms, get tested if you can. If you have any symptoms, don’t assume it’s just a cold.

I train in Tokyo (cases and deaths are really low compared to world averages) and every class our coach repeats the same;
- cases are low here but we're not out of the woods yet
- if you feel off, don't brush it off
- we keep attendance just in case, and we'll notice you if anybody tests positive

in the meanwhile, we keep training, not the least because having a healthy body is a great first line of defense.

good luck Nick!

Easier said than done. My wife and I are here in the US to see my mom. Didn't want to come here, but she's been isolated at her farm since this all started. We fly home this weekend and have to get tested before we can board. We had to look for 4 hours to get a test appointment and it's costing us almost 400 USD. Even self test kits are sold out. And we are luck that we can afford it. Don't want to think about what people less fortunate are going through.

Yup testing is a real problem. Walk in testing is hours long here.

Good luck to you both

Had "it" over the holidays. Over it now and just dealing with residual stuff like fatigue and loss of smell and taste.
Worst part was the cold sweats at night even after the fever had been long gone.
Smell and taste are slowly returning. Been exercising lightly to get back my energy levels.
So far good to go.

I had those sweaty nights for two weeks after I was sent home from the hospital. Made a habit of covering my bed with towels every night

Yeah that's what I've been doing. I get up and change into dry clothes and get back in bed to sweat for another round.
Last night only one round so I am making progress in that regard.

Not going to lie, we were shocked at how backed up it is. Back home, we were able to get an appointment and get our results within an hour. Now I've got to worry if we'll get the results of the test were taking tomorrow in time for our flight on Saturday.

Sorry for possibly triggering question but how the hell do you deal with antivaxx being so prevalent in BJJ circles?

Oh jeeze... here we go. Lol.

Wasn't there an "off topic" thread on this? Should probably just move this discussion back there...

THIS!!!

Honestly, I do get sick of having to say this to people, but this is a rule you should be following even without a pandemic. If you are sick, stay the fuck home. You're got showing how hardcore you are. You're just being an inconsiderate dick.
