I always thought that brown belt was supposed to be a short stop before black. Most of the guys that I started with spent a year or less at brown. 5 years at purple, but 1 year at brown.

Thanks my man, yeah I agree, I spent 9yrs cooking at blue for various reasons in and out of my control. I’m grateful to being able to achieve my goals.

As for brown belt being a short stop, that varies per person. I think a lot of it depends on how long they spent at the other belts. I was at brown belt for 4 years before getting promoted to black belt.
