Quick question, let’s say a 17-year-old is a purple belt and has had his purple belt since January 2022 he turns 18 in January 2023. When would he be eligible for his brown belt under the IBJJF?

June 2023. But I'd double check. The ibjjf handbook from on their site is pretty descriptive.

If he was registered as a juvenile Purple Belt, he would be eligible for brown as soon as he turns 18.
