Ok, I have been getting into leg attacks more and more. Mainly because it seems I always end up in a spot where it feels natural to attack the legs. What is your favorite? I am always looking to set up from Half Guard and when standing cutting up the middle and reversing to the legs. Anyone have any tips, instructional?

I hate leglocks. HATE them. But yeah, can't avoid them, sadly. If I had to pick a leglock, it would be the kneebar. The set up Jeff Knight showed me vs knee shield/z guard is one I've taught a few times, usually goes down well with my students: https://www.instagram.com[...]BiNWFlZA==
I understand that a ton of people do not love the leg attacks, but when they seem to just "be there" for me, I have to take what I can get!

One of the entries that I like is what Rhalan Gracie had shown before.

One of the initial temptations with leg locks is why pass guard when I can take a leg? I actually find this hinders learning and stress in the early development attacking the legs from bottom positions

I agree with you. Like I said in my earlier post, it seems that these positions just happen and I end up with spots that are good entries for attacking legs. I guess it’s kinda like me and art, I don’t know why I can draw but I can, so I use it.

I will attack legs from the bottom position 90% of the time due to the fact I don’t want to give up the top position. My go to attacks are generally heel hooks and knee bars. I’ll enter into leg entanglements such as 411 to maximize my attacks but I’ll still play ashi to enter into my x-guards and use the to sweep to get to the top unless the submission is the best thing to take. With that said it’s more the mental game for me then the actual taps. It’s like playing 3D chess.

Of course Mark waits until I’m injured when I am visiting from out of state.
Great night with the guy that injured his thumb by oil checking people during jiu-jitsu "drilling". He still rolled well though!!!

I‘m definitely in love with leglocks too. Most of the time i‘m using the leg attacks from my bottom game. But in order to improve my top game i‘m using more and more backtseps in passing situations to get the saddle. Also in love with the 50:50 game. Lachlan Giles instructionals have been very helpful as well as my coaches, who are in love with the darkside too 😊

As A purple belt at the very first Fight to Win Pro I loss by 50/50 heel hook to Jeff Acke and tore my lcl. Since that date I have been obsessed with leg lock offense defense and being top notch in this sub category of Jiujitsu. I would recommend you study Lachlan giles on submeta and his leg lock anthology on bjj fanatics. Craig Jones get off my legs gringo and Gordon Ryan’s leg lock dvds.
I have everything from enter the system with Danaher to Ryan halls old school and modern 50/50 games.
Robert Deagle dean lister and on and on… The first 4 I mentioned will give you a very complete and in-depth look at attacking defending and will help you become very knowledgeable if you drill and work thru all of the material in the dvds on the mats yourself. 👍🏽

Charles Harriot - leglocks 101
Dennis Schindler - leg locks don’t work
Leg locks are part of a balanced diet, might as well learn them from those that can explain them well. I don’t lead with leglocks, but it’s good to have them as an option

I like leglocks, my nogi game is usually a more or less constant back and forth between threatening the neck och the legs/feet…. When I’m on the bottom I go for legattacks more and when on top I tend to chase some variation of head and arm…
