With 4436 black belts registered on Beltchecker, how many do you think there must be in the world? If we go by a wildly optimistic number that Beltchecker has even 5% of them here, then that means there are more than 100,000 out there.
Considering we have only 182 from Brazil, perhaps a realistic guess could even be 250,000-500,000? (🤯)

The only ones that matter are the ones who have been cleared by Johan. So, like, maybe 235?

Found this, not sure how accurate but someone put a lot of work into it. Also from the article "If we use IBJJF’s registered black belts as a guide and from estimates taken at my previous two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms, 1 out of 25 black belts were registered with IBJJF so we can estimate there are approximately ~186,175 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belts in the world."

Only thing I see here is that Beltchecker is quickly catching up on IBJJF on registering black belts 🤩🤩
