I've had a recent incident of drilling heel hooks, starting off in saddle, and trying to escape.....and a good experienced guy, yet someone who I hadn't trained with much before went after it and I didnt have time to tap before ouch. Yes yes I know I have learned my lessons. However here we are. Its been 2 weeks and I went to an dont think that its torn, just sprained. 6 weeks out he says.

It's just depressing feeling like a gimp for two weeks now limping around. Improvement is there, just slow and it still hurts.

I've trained a while and never had a knee injury prior.

Any one else have such knee injuries and what was your timeline back?

Obviously I'm going go watch it and when I'm back to training: wear a brace for a bit, only positional spar to protect it, etc for a bit. Any other nuggets of healing or recovery wisdom?

Acai. Also bomba.

(Time, time and more time - if it's a sprain though, get moving ASAP - it'll speed up the process. Gentle massage and moving on the verge of dyscomfort.)

That sucks.. hope you heal up quick.
We train heel hooks but on a catch and release system.
Injuries from them mostly do not exist because of this.
Maybe watch some instructionals to pass the time while you heal.
That's what I do. If I can't train the body I train the mind and take notes so when I get back I can start drilling the stuff
I think would fit my game. Although my game will always need work haha.

You haven't hit rock bottom yet.

All that being said,

there is no reason why you should,

at least prematurely.
