As you might have seen or noticed, we have some server issues at the moment. Just wanted to let you know that we are working on fixing it. Seems like we're getting attacked left and right these days - just had someone in Bulgaria reload the forum page 40k times in a few minutes 😂 Needless to say, that doesn't leave much server juice for the rest of us.
As a temporary measure, we've blocked access to Beltchecker for profiles not logged in. That should hopefully take some pressure off.

No problems today. Last few days I have had issues logging in. Got an email at midnight this morning asking me if I was still a four stripe blue belt and to update my profile though. Which was kinda weird. I figured it was just an old email that was clogged up in a queue.

Some bad actors (security speak for assholes) were using scripts to repeatedly load the website 40k per minute (or so) so they were overloading the server - its a way to essentially lock up or make the server unavailable for folks.

Was good for me yesterday morning, then couldn't load consistently in the afternoon. Good so far today. The pattern seems to be that it works well in the morning and gets bad in the afternoon.

They're deactivated because our new firewall setup requires payment per domain (unlike the old one). Since basically nobody used those sites, we don't feel like spending $1250+/year to run them right now. And we don't want to run them without security since we're seeing a LOT of attackes on the sites. So for now they're disabled until we find some solution.
