Let's see, for gis there's 2 for coaching, 3 for training, 1 for seminars, 1 seminar gi on deck for when the current one gets dirty and becomes a training gi, 1 set aside for an eventual black belting. And that's just at the school.
There's 2 more at my seamstress to get my amputee side hemmed and probably at least a dozen at home that are either a little worn out or are waiting for me to lose weight to wear them again.
Rashguards, who knows...

You guys make me feel better about myself. My girlfriend says I'm like a women with shoes when it comes to Gis. I own about 12. As for rashguards...about the same amount.

Since we are doing inventory on here:

20 Gi's
4 rashguard tops
3 rashguard shorts
2 spats
2 grappling shorts
10 blackbelts (around 6 or7 were gifts)

3 gis, 3 rash guards. You guys are insane. Why would you hoard them? Over the years I've given away dozens of gis.

~12 gis, only 4 or 5 in regular rotation.

All my gis are missing half a sleeve. I've given away some of the pants but the tops are worthless to anyone not missing a right hand 🤷‍♂️

Probably about fifteen gis and a dozen rash guards. I've given away a lot of gis and slimmed my collection to just the collector ones and ones I wear. Three denim ones, four origin, a few lucky gis and a couple others

Rash guards I'm less likely to give away because I live in a cold climate so they work well as a base layer even if they aren't in rotation.

In active rotation, I have three gis (white and black Fuji Suparaitos and a navy blue Fuji lightweight), each with its own dedicated rash guard and Shock Doctor compression shorts/cup. That way, I always have one clean outfit while the others are washing and hanging dry. I have several pairs of extra gi pants (from Just Gi Pants) and rash guards for training no-gi BJJ and other arts (JKD and Krav Maga).

As for the gis in a massive bin in my basement: I have a couple of judo gis (blue Mizuno and white Fushida) that I wear only to judo practice because they are double-weaves (though I'm pretty much retired from judo these days due to a busted shoulder). I have some old Koral gi tops that I keep around for my grappling dummy since the pants wore out long ago and the collars are frayed.

Slight obsession but to be fair I wear it all. I’m on the mats minimum 18hrs a week between training and teaching

Currently 36 Gi's, half of which I use in some from of rotation and the rest are collectable/rare.
Sensibly I have less numbers in rashguards, shorts and spats.

I have about 30 gis and a dresser (as in the full chest) or spats, short-sleeved rashguards and long-sleeved ones and mma shorts. My name is John Byrne, and I have a problem... :D

I started giving them away to broke teammates, because it was getting absurd.

Now 2 white, 2 black and 1 grey ripstop traveller.

All in rotation.

Oh and 2 old school HCK's that I can't part ways with.

I have a pair of HCK shorts that I keep around to show that I'm old school haha.


No idea on how many rash guards I own, but I have 28 gis in my closet.

That's cool, I've started doing that as well, because some of the old gis haven't been touched in a year or more, and room had to be made for the new gis... ;)
