This should go with out being said but the team makes the school. I am beyond thrilled with the group I have joined. They are all about growth and development. There is not a wrong way only a way to improve. This is what spreads the love of this art.

Yes for sure having good coaches and teammates helps make the environment great and fun to learn. Having coaches that make you strive for better teqnique and that help you with it even in a roll and teamates you want to roll with that push you to be better. I love our academy it's very family oriented and very flow.

All academies will develop a “Vibe” and it’s directly related to the leaders. My school, http://www.deephalfbjj.com, is considered a “Dad” academy in that we have a fair amount of 30-50 year olds. It’s not for everyone, but everyone is welcome and will have a good time. Not far, there is another great academy that has a younger cohort. They are no more nor less than our school and in fact, we have had great open mat sessions with their team. You see that their atmosphere is different, but just a good.
I love that in southern Utah County, there are schools that can fit for anyone.

Yep. I care more about the vibe than anything else. I would choose a friendly but mediocre skill level school over a high skill level but unfriendly school, every time.
