What do you guys prefer if only ordering one type?

I use to like long sleeve as I just thought it looked cooler but now I mostly prefer to just wear short sleeve as they are more comfortable.

I feel weird wearing a LS rashguard with shorts so SS has my vote.
Yea same. It just feels weird with shorts.

There was one time as a white belt I looked the ref dead in the eyes as I did an Ezekiel in a Nogi match with my rashguard. Didn't work but was fun trying. That's about it.

Short sleeves almost always I do have a 3 quarter sleeve and long sleeve for winter time but don't get used as much

I prefer long sleeve rashguards and long spats (and of course, shorts on top of spats). I don't want direct sweaty skin contact with anybody, sleeves protect skin from burns and scratches, always wear spats because nobody should be forced to touch by sweaty hairy legs. Brands not having long sleeve rashguards in their selection is a bit saddening.

I also like AOJ nogi outfit requirements - long spats, shorts and long-sleeved rashguards, all black. Check their IG - looks very good to me.

To all the people saying long sleeve and are not afraid of hygiene issues have you ever actually tried short sleeves?

I usually prefer long sleeves, but I also wear rashguard bottoms under my shorts too, so it's less awkward than wearing long sleeves with shorts.

As it gets hotter I may opt for short sleeve sometimes too. Lately, it's been more 50/50. I got a nasty case of cellulitis infection in my knee a few years back that led me to wear spats under my shorts to prevent more microabrasions that led to the infection to begin with. A 4-hour hospital visit, knee tap, and two weeks on super strong antibiotics that tore my stomach up as enough motivation for me to change my attire.

I also think long sleeve rashguards tend to look better - particularly the ranked ones.

It's all about minimizing skin contact for me. Had toomany skin issues including MRSA in the past.
People are nasty no matter what they say.

Long sleeves are better for nogi. I prefer a short sleeve under the gi. I would also use short sleeves always, but I have the biceps of a Popeye without the spinach, so they don't look good on me.

long sleeves, because ... ring worm.
I’ve gotten ring worm three times in 17-yrs of training. All three times it’s been on my face, so I’m sticking with short sleeves.

Proper hygiene and mat cleaning I am pretty sure people will be fine.

Only thing I would be worried about would be MRSA If you got some fresh wound then yea maybe you would want to wear something over that.

I still think Hygiene is the biggest factor. Taking a shower and washing your stuff as soon as possible without delay. Washing your belt also. lol

I made both short and long sleeves for my academy, because people told me that long sleeves are cool, the results is that the HUGE majority buy short sleeves and let their poor coach with all those long one...so my advise, choose the short sleeves.

I prefer long sleeve, my elbows get scraped up a lot and bleed in the short sleeve. I always thought they would toughen up but after three years it still happens. But it never happens when I wear the long sleave rash guard. So starting next belt when I buy new rash guards they will all be long sleave. Oh and they make you look like you are going out to wrestle a shark.

Yeah, because their initial use was for the rowing teams, so they must look bada$$ for the sharks😂😂
