This is already "old news", but will be very nice if he indeed make this happen. Lets wait and hope that this has better outcome than Craig vs. Gabi Garcia.

Craig Jones Announces Million Dollar BJJ Tourmanent

One Million Dollar Jiu Jitsu Tournament? I don't think I would ever say those words in the same sentence. But Craig Jones, the man, the myth, the legend, just dropped a bombshell that's got everyone talking. A brand new 32 man tournament with a jaw-dropping $3 million total prize pool, with $1 million going to the winn

I will believe it when it happens although I was wrong about the first ADCC I got invited and laughed at them

Some of my friends and I are thinking Craig Jones had a rich uncle who dies and left him everything.

He just posted an update that he's booked a venue. But who knows. Being in direct conflict with ADCC wouldn't be a good business decision, but then, it looks like this is more about a statement than good business.

Right now, this who thing is in line with what he's doing (Charity seminars for Ukraine, feeding kids in the Philippines, etc.). This could turn out to be a joke in the end but it does look like this is one of the few things Craig Jones is genuinely serious about.

Craig seems to be the (anti)hero we need and deserve...
I've made a point every time I share a Craig Jones story of him being awesome to Tag it with the song "Holding Out for a Hero.". 🤣🤣🤣

Truly the hero we need but not the one we deserve. And way healthier than all the crybaby alpha male man child bullshit .

I hadn't heard about it. One of the benefits of my bipolar thing is that I am only especially active on social media every few weeks, sometimes only once a month. Which means I can ignore people like Gordon Ryan, Craig Jones etc, they rarely get mentioned in my gym. :D

I wonder who is the €€€ behind the operation - the webpage shows only Craig's own enterprises as sponsors :D
Dead rich uncle I'm betting. 😅😅😅

Maybe he got lucky with crypto. Prize money photo was in cryptocurrency. Maybe he reveals it. Or not.

We are living interesting times. Craig said that event will Be streamed for free in YouTube.

Part of me thinks it's never going to happen. Jones is a well known troll.
This one is looking like it's the real deal. At least he's got the Tackett Brothers convinced.

Honestly, the whole action is fitting with a lot of what he's doing right now, like feeding kids in the Philippines and supporting the Ukraine with charity seminars.

Craig is wild... he jokes around a lot but you can tell he loves this sport.
I've not forgiven him for the Alex Jones podcast appearances. Says a lot about his character flaws.

I hope it will not end up looking like B-Team is organising a tournament with mostly B-Team top competitors for B-Team to take home the 1M prize :D

PGF and Craig Jones doing big things to improve the situation for jiu-jitsu athletes. Can't complain.

Finally! Also would be cool to get Volkanovski and other MMA guys on the event. Much like ADXC did with Steven Ray recently.

I think that's the point. He is trying to prove that in today's world the money is more important than the prestige. I saw something on another page that this event pays more to make weight than ADCC pays to win. I've also seen that anyone who does his event gets a lifetime ban from ADCC. Don't know how accurate those two statements are, but they are out there.

I am excited for this event, but sad not to see the Tackett brothers and the B team crews compete at ADCC.

Looking forward to hear what the guys from Melqui Galvao academy decide. Mica, Hokage or Baby Shark pocketing this 1M would be really awesome to see.

Mica going to CJI would be the game changer. If Craig can somehow keep the event together and manage to do it annually like he plans, it forces ADCC to adjust. Its like the ABA forcing the NBA to change methods and then eventually they merged into a solid product.

More competition is always a good thing.

I saw the rumor going around on reddit that zuckerburg was the one secretly funding this from the shadows which honestly wouldn't surprise me with their recent interest in grappling.

If I had to guess it would be Joe Rogan. Craig was able to secure multiple podcast very quickly. I believe Joe also sponsors ADCC or at least certain athletes. To preserve the relationship he probably doesn't want to be named but the tax write off would benefit him more than Zuckerburg. Running it as a nonprofit not only allows most of the expenses to be written off, it allows Joe to promote the sport in a athlete focus direction.
