Checking to see how anyone that are/were in the path of Helene is doing! I know there are some on here that were hit by the flooding and storm surge and others in the North Carolina, Georgia areas that were potentially affected by the insane amount of flooding. Wishing you all the best.
My home was spared, no wind damage, no flooding, still have power and internet, I feel blessed. Just a few miles in any direction from me, people were not so lucky. One of the members of our gym here in Florida had 4ft of water in his home and lost everything. Would love to share the GoFundMe link that our gym created if it is acceptable.

I'm in Asheville, NC, and we got totally pwned lol. We are doing ok though: minor damage to property, but we've been without running water and power for a few days now.
I had just a couple minutes online since cell service is all jacked up so I figured I'd check out what's new on beltchecker...

Same with my parents, they are in that area as well and the only road to their home is blocked by many trees and washed out roads. BUT their home is good and were out of the area at the time the storm him. So when they are back, they run on a well and generator so should be fine except for the trees.
As far as the cell service, I have been told by friends that work in the business they are trying to apply backup (generators) power to the towers to get things running as well as charging the backup batteries on the towers that have them.

Spoke to the individual last night after practice and they are managing ok. They were able to get a temporary shelter (camper) for now as things are delt with. It is cramped for a family but they are safe and doing ok.

I love this site.
Oop... internet ration time is up again. Guess Grandma will have to wait another couple days to hear from me, since I gotta find out who Johann is downvoting.

Lol, but if you actually haven't let Granny know that you're OK yet, you should definitely do that because she's probably pretty worried. I'm glad to hear that you're mostly unscathed.

We are in the "cone of uncertainty ". I live North of Tampa Bay. The Hurricane at this time is going to hit around 2am EST Thursday. As ready as we can be at this point, just ready to “camp” at home for a bit after this monster passes.
Best of luck to anyone else in the path or has been affected by the last storm.

So we are good. We have power and just got back internet. Cannot say much for the surrounding areas. Flooding and damage everywhere. Both roads leading into our neighborhood are flooded, but passable. Big cleanup for most areas around. I feel 100% blessed that we came out yet again unscathed.
We went out Saturday and hit one of our local pizza joints who was able to get a generator going and opened up for the community last storm and this one. They were actually giving away free pizza to those in need no questions asked. Of course we bought 3 and a drink and dropped a good tip to help the workers.
Hope others in my area are good.

The water finally came back on! No more dirty troll-jitsu for this guy!
(JK I've been clean, just incredibly inconveniently)
