None.
In any case I would prefer a disclaimer first:
„Social media seriously harms Your mental health.“

O.k., that said it is only beltchecker with its profiles and this forum which is acceptable for me.☝🏼
Beside that I have sometimes a short look at Insta with new posts of my favorite gyms and thats it.🫣

For my part, I just got back from a trip overseas, and when I was looking for places to drop in, I felt like most gyms had really poorly maintained websites. It seemed the only way to get up to date info was to find the gym's Instagram account and look through the pinned posts for the current schedule.

Thankfully, I was able to do that much without triggering the constant "make an account to look at anything" popups. Most any other content was blocked from my view since I don't generally do social media.

I promised myself (and my students) that I'd film more content for my IG. Well... my phone is always low on battery and I focus way too much on coaching during sessions and always forget to film anything. :D

Short, 10-30 sec clips are usually the best for social media. One of my more popular videos is a 1 sec wrist lock clip.

I like short (<3 minutes) that get to the flipping point. I find Ash Williams IG, Ozzy MMA, limibjj good examples of this. Have one topic and get into it fast.

The main problem in 2024 is that the best content hides in plain sight. There's epic content out there that could definitely help my BJJ, but it's hidden amongst hours and hours of click bait junk.

What creators struggle to understand is that your 15 minute guard passing video might be genuinely epic. But I can't really take a punt on a 15 minute video. So either I know in advance that it's worth it because of recommendations, or I can't take the risk otherwise I end up needing to watch 5 x 15 minute videos to find 1 good one and then I could have been on the mats with that much spare time.

So don't start a video yapping about how you learnt this move during a 1996 trip to Brazil where you had the best steak of your life whilst wearing a blue t-shirt and get to the point. I'll take a punt on a short video and then I'll binge the channel if it's good.

But that's just me.

I like seeing more realistic technique solutions. I see too many flashy and impractical moves, that’s not realistic BJJ to me - I’ve noticed it gives me unrealistic expectations about how quickly a roll should progress. I like seeing coaches offer solutions and tips for common problems that come up during drilling and training.

I live on social media. In terms of BJJ instructional, I want clarity, detail and DO IT SLOWLY. Soooo many BJJ vids on Instagram are done to rack up more views. Very annoying: I can't learn your cool move if you rush through it in 10 seconds!
