Hello. I have a question for you related to obtaining the IBJJF certificate. I am from Poland and since I have been training, i.e. since 2005/2006, my professor has never been registered in IBJJF. As a brown belt, I joined Uniu Jiu-Jitsu, an association of clubs in Poland from which, together with my professor, I received a black belt at one of the UNI camps. Today, two years have passed since I asked my professor and the main professor of Uni Jiu-Jitsu to register me in IBJJF. Unfortunately, the topic has not been discussed to this day. I have a CBJJP certificate, an IPJJF certificate, but I am unable to arrange IBJJF.
On their website I see that you must already be a registered IBJJF user, have a first aid course completion certificate (which I have) and You must have an IBJJF Rules Seminar Certificate of Achievement completed within the last 12 months. IBJJF approval requires you to earn 70% or more on the test taken, in-person during the Rules Seminar, and on the online test during the Rules Webinars.
I have a problem with two points. Firstly, I do not know anyone registered in the IBJJF system who could or would like to register me and let me know about the Certificate of Achievement from the IBJJF Regulations Seminar completed in the last 12 months. Is there a way to do it somewhere in Poland and what does it involve or is there any other way to do it?
The question is whether, having no one in IBJJF and having problems with fluent English, I am able to obtain such a certificate. If I have to pass the Seminar Certificate in a foreign language, I know I will have a problem.
I hope I'm not the first to have such a problem, so please let me know how you solved it.
thanks in advance for your answer.

Are you registered as a black belt already? If so, you're good to compete in ibjjf tournaments. No certificate necessary.
If not, yes, you'll need someone to get you registered as a black belt before you do anything else.
In regards to the certificate, you can just do an online rules course, which includes the test. You don't need to do anything in-person.
I'm a native English speaker, but I think that you'll be able to take the test and still pass it, even as a non-native speaker. Most of it is video-based.
So, first-things-first: what is the status of your ibjjf registration at the moment?

As of today, I am not registered in the IBJJF, neither as a black belt nor as a brown belt. with this test, I think that if it is online, the translator will help so much. :)

Yeah, probably not really worth doing the test for the purpose of certifying. Once you get someone to sign off on your registration, you're going to have to be a provisional black belt for a while before you can try for the certificate.
But, once again, all you need in order to compete in the tournaments is to be registered, even provisionally. You do not need the certificate.

ok, so tell me how to register as a temporary black belt, and whether someone who is not my trainer has the right to approve me there? Because I understand from what you write that someone has to confirm me there.

You have to find someone who is certified as a 3(+) stripe black belt to sign off on your registration.
Sorry, these are not my stupid rules.

That's really one of the reasons a IBJJF certificate is pretty worthless in proving legitimacy. Be convincing enough with a BB in good standing with IBJJF and they might register you as a BB on belief alone while still (rightfuly so) being able to later deny they were the one who promoted you.
If you find someone gullible (or payable) who can sign off on you (and won't roll with you or evaluate you much), you can claim to have been promoted to black by someone who has passed away, is totally incommunicado or never existed in the first place.
A IBJJF certificate is really not a guarantee that due diligence has been made.

Hi! I was recently promoted to black belt and completed my certification. I’m not sure what your level of English is, but you don’t need much to pass the webinar course on rules. It’s a series of videos with fighting situations, and you just need to select the correct option.
As mentioned in the previous messages, to compete, you only need to be a registered athlete. I think the certificate would be a good idea if you plan to teach or run an academy. If you need more information, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to help.
Best regards!
(Look the terrible manner that my Expensive certificate arrived 😞)

Ah, I forgot to mention it in the previous message. Since you have never been affiliated with the IBJJF, they would give you provisional affiliation. Because of this, you won’t be able to get certified until the two-year probationary period is over.

When creating an account on ibjjf, you must provide your club affiliation and select a professor. It is not even possible to create an account as a temporary black belt if none of the existing ibjjf accounts confirm my application. My academy does not have a professor who is registered as a 3rd degree black belt in the IBJJF system (most black belts in Poland are not listed here). Is it possible to skip this stage or can a black belt confirm the application based on the data on Beltchecker? If there is anyone here who can help, please send me a message on the beltchecker account or email [email protected]. my academy Unia Jiu Jitsu exists in IBJJF, there is even a black belt Jarosław Koch, but in IBJJF he has no data marked (he is 4th dan, in IBJJF he is 1st dan)

Hey sir, if your club is part of a larger affiliation that is certainly one way to get this done. A lot of times each affiliation may have 1 or 2 Professors who can qualify to fulfill IBJJF things such as this since keeping up on the requirements and everything is expensive and time-consuming.
