Guy claims to be a BJJ blackbelt but reduses to name the instructor who promoted him or show and verification....

He gets questioned and then starts spamming BJJ forums on social media with weird justifications

People fascinate me...

Although what troubles me is this goes on far too often and BJJ is getting more and more like "traditional martial arts" in this way

He has not posted his profile here, has he?
If not, why should we care,
why is that our business?
Aside from Facebook trolling, what is his crime?
Is he marketing for in person students?
Is he selling an online course?
What's next, are we going to go back to the days of the Gracie Challenge,
Where most of the ducks we hunted, were tame, and we could hunt them with pliers,
Even given the 1 out of 10, or 1 out of 20 who could knock our teeth out,
or catch up with us with the Striker's chance?
What's the point, these days?
When there are MMA venues at every corner.
Lots of submission grappling venues.
And even the IBJJF, for those that don't mind a little S&M.
With or without a safe word.

So,

Safeguarding the bjj community only counts when your profile is on beltchecker?

In that case, i can give you names of people that are operating from it.

Would you care then? How can we make it our business then?

Would be lovely to hear more about your ideas on how to improve the community. Especially with your experience.

How exactly is that guy endangering the BJJ community?
Because he is a bit of an Internet troll?
C'mon. Who cares.

Don’t delete the post. Belt Checker is no different then Facebook or anywhere else. Everyone will give their opinion. Some make sense and some don’t. Move on. Sometimes people reply just to make themselves feel important, some to help, some to offer another perspective, it is what it is.
To me this affects the community and belongs here. Isn’t that what we are doing here? Trying to affect the community? This clown you posted about is the quiet to stolen value in my opinion. Again just someone trying to validate himself. If he truly believed his own crap he’d come here wouldn’t he?

Dude may be mentally ill or a narcissistic compulsive liar or both.

Personally I laugh at these people that think they are going to get away with it.

The internet always delivers.

In a way this is a problem that we as a community have created by being so laid-back and not having specific criteria for promotions and not having a REAL organization to over sees the art! The guy is a troll and the mats don't lie!

I don't know about him being a Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu but at least seems to know some Judo, Wrestling and is friends with a legit sambo guy in the same town about 3 hours from me.

Actually he moves somewhat decent for a guy that looks like he's over 300 pounds and 40+. Def not a Lasu Rogers situation. I don't think he has some weird god or cult complex either. Probably just doesn't care what jiu-jitsu people think and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he would beat some black belts his age. The guy has decent stand up and some wrestling. Not saying he's amazing or black belt level...but he def knows somewhat what he's doing on his feet at least and is a big dude.

300+ pound man doing Sumi Gaeshi 's and wrestling both. Don't see a lot of older big dudes that size/age actually doing much of anything to be honest besides just holding on for dear life until someone gasses out.
