Why do i need selfie with text while just changing picture

Hey team, I get it that you do manual verification but why would I need to upload another selfie with handwritten username while just changing my own picture to my own picture.
Hard to believe I changed so much that verification this way is required:(

Because otherwise you could just change your profile picture to show someone else than you, once verified. We need to make sure that the new picture is also of you.
It takes a minute to do and will be verified same day ❤️ No votes or anything else affected.

It might come as a surprise but it's a pain In the backside. Is there a way for me to cancel the picture change and have whatever default comes from the app ?

Pain or not, it's absolutely necessary in order to maintain a high level of trust of the ID verification of the profiles.

Yes , plain good old default avatar.
You could automate it maybe with AI face comparisment considering ppl do upload their documents 😀

On the other hand , I think I did upload the ID so would comparing that against the picture not be enough for the high level of certainty that its me :) ?

Never had a request to delete a profile picture and use the avatar so that functionality doesn't exist, sorry 🙂 But if you prefer an avatar, just go find one on google image and upload that as your profile picture?
I could maybe code an advanced AI face comparison feature, but people could also just spend literally one minute writing their name on a piece of paper and take a picture of it 😂 🤷🏼♂️

It would. But if you upload an ID, that is used for verifying your name and it's deleted immediately after. We don't keep it in case you change your profile photo.

No sorry, the system will not accept an avatar as ID verification. The entire idea is that people show their real name and real face on the profiles so we can trust who is behind it 🙂
You can use all the features on Beltchecker without ID verification, except the voting part. So if you really don’t want your real face or name there, it’s no big deal. Just can’t have your profile verified then.

Correct. No voting or receiving votes if you’re not ID verified.
