I was always told negative vote was forever.

Then I get this. "He is part of a right movement in cologne and is teaching children. He is telling his theories in public, as you can hear in some podcast episodes."
There should be a way when people go off the deep end like this that they are warned and then banned. Where does it end? Someone disputes your friends profile. You dispute theirs. Then in theory their votes should disappear. Though not sure. Then they get back on and disputes your profile. Like a eye for a eye. Then everyone is blind.

If the community does not agree with how a user is voting, then they can downvote their profile. Once it loses verification, all their votes will be voided and retractet.

So is there a way to remove these notifications like this? I would not want to see such things over and over.

You'll once see them when they vote (or change their vote, as it seems to have happened a few times)

I know that it is a social experience and bla bla bla but can we be honest for a few minutes ? If a member is clearly a ass*ole who down vote by.... hum let say....missunderstanding the purpose of the site, let we do him like a non-educated child or did some moderator just send him a message to told him to take another way of doing his or her beltchecking😉

The entire foundation of this platform is that voting is moderated by the community, not by administrators. The users have more power than the administrators to correct behavior as they see fit.
At this moment, it literally only takes a single downvote from you to take away this profile's voting ability if that's what you think should happen.

Yes, I realized that my -175 downvote could have disabled his profile. But honestly, the idea of getting into a pissing match with someone just doesn’t sit right with me. There have been plenty of people I didn’t feel deserved my verification, and I could be wrong, but I don’t think I’ve ever disputed anyone. I usually just move on.
A lot of times when situations like this come up, I’ll look at the profiles of the people involved—especially the one being disputed—and make sure my input wouldn’t push them below the threshold. If there’s no chance it would, I just withdraw my vote.
Fifteen years ago, I would’ve handled things very differently. I was a different man back then. I used to know every legitimate person ranked purple belt and above within three states. Now, when someone asks me, I just say “I don’t know,” and if they bring me drama, I say I don’t care.
At this point, I’d rather just let karma take its course.

Regardless, it's an interesting debate. The system is fundamentally designed to give the users the power to disable profiles if they disagree with the way they are voting. Should they use it? Will they use it?
Or does the moderators need to step in and settle disagreements on political views, gym drama, voting criteria and personal feuds? The latter would almost require we hire a full time employee to investigate and take sides in vote every removal request. There are 221,000 votes in the system now, how many of those would someone disagree with?

I understand the effort to stick to very clear rules, but it must be say that at some point something will always push the boundaries of the structure. This individual made comments on a public profile that are legally relevant, "he is teaching children". Not to mention the haughtiness and arrogance of an extremely debatable comment thrown by a moral high ground. But forget the disagreement on moral terms, these are legal accusation without a base. I think it's past any "moderators don't intervene" point.

Well…
I’m willing to review my vote if the person in question displays a level of maturity I expect from a Brownbelt.
If that’s how regulation is supposed to be handled here we go.
I thank the moderators for removing the comment. His vote is still there and I will not stand for slander.
This is me being gentle with someone I’d consider immature and ill informed instead of pressing charges.

I do agree there is a line crossed once it could be a legal issue / involve accusations about children. The comment on the vote was removed for that reason.
