Ha - you mean those people exist? Scary! :P

Not been overly enthused by the new ones. Initial new trilogy was terrible, this second new trilogy has been mostly meh, but not terrible. Haven't seen the third one yet, as falling asleep during the second one didn't bode well. LOVED Rogue One though.

They actually do! LOL I was shocked! Who hasn't seen at least one star wars? Like, really? Who hasn't? LOL

I love the cartoons and the spin off's much more. The clone wars and rebels fill in so many gaps!

I liked Rogue One as well though most ppl seemed not to. I also LLLLLOOOOVVVEEEEEDDDD Mandalorian s1 :)
(have never gotten into SW cartoons and don't think I will though I've heard they're good)

Tie Fighter and Rebel Commando are games I really liked back in the day :)

As in, the first three 'new' ones, which were awful: 'The Phantom Menace', 'Attack of the Clones' and 'Revenge of the Sith' (Star Wars 1, 2, 3).

Then there have been the second new ones (Star Wars 7, 8, 9), which have been ok but I haven't been too excited by ('The Force Awakens', 'The Last Jedi' and 'The Rise of Skywalker'). Not yet seen the final one though, which I'm told is better than the second one.

I like the original Star Wars movie, but I thought the rest were unnecessary.
I agree. SW is like Highlander:

There should have been only one.

Ah, no hate at all...still haven't watched The Mandalorian. I probably will at some point. At least all the memes I see now will hopefully make better sense. lol

But Can what's the 3rd new trilogy then?!? (I think Last Jedi was the best of the new trilogy)
Ha - bad phrasing on my part. When I said 'the third one', I meant the third film of the second new trilogy, rather than a third new trilogy. And meh, I'd MUCH rather be watching Star Trek anyway, way better than Star Wars. :P

C'mon, everybody knows Empire is the high-point of 80s American fantasy cinema and bests the original!

Return of the Jedi was already not very good though, and the new trilogies... The Force Awakens was a mildly pleasant surprise I guess, but I didn't even bother with the newest one anymore.

Nothing beats Conan the Barbarian for 80s American fantasy cinema. NOTHING. :D :D :D

Absolutely correct.

I should've written "one of the high points" :)

Hell yeah. One of my favs. :)

Coincidentally, another movie franchise (are two movies a franchise?) where there should have been only one.

Yeah the Arnold version was the best.

Honestly, I couldn't even get past 30 mins of the Jason M. one, what with having grown up watching the one with Arnie.

Conan the Destroyer (sequel to the original Conan the Barbarian) was...decent.

I agree.. the sequel was still better than the newer one. LOL

Nah, there should have been three. Conan the Destroyer was frequently silly (faaaaar less quality a film than Conan the Barbarian), but still fun: Grace Jones was amazing. And yeah, I'm still waiting for Arnie as King Conan. :P

I guess John Milius and Arnie are talking about King Conan!

Hopefully! They've been talking about it for years IIRC, but I'll believe it when I see it. Arnie isn't getting any younger, but he's still got that Arnie charisma. Meaning they could make an interesting film with a much older Conan, a more reflective Conan, getting into themes of ageing etc. Like Logan but more so, I guess.

The Conan comics were often excellent too, including some really good rebooted ones I've read a decade or so ago.

Also, Conan is clearly better than Star Wars, as this derail appears to have taken over the thread. :P
