So the reason for this is the way in which your phone has done the image rotation. Often to avoid dataloss the image is simply tagged as Rotate 90° or what ever needs to be done. If the image viewer \ encoder on the website is not looking for or has been told to ignore this tag the appears in its orginal rotation.

Looks like I was able to get around it by emailing the pictures to my computer, cropping them slightly, resaving them as jpeg files, and re-uploading them.
I guess some phones take pictures with motion? That sounds like witchcraft.

As soon you edited \ resaved them that software then removed the roate tag on the file and saved it in the new orentation, instead of keeping the original file and just leave a note on it saying "view it + 90°"
