As a true legend of Jiu-Jitsu, Rickson continues to pass down his martial arts wisdom. He recently launched an exclusive accreditation program, selecting only four top-tier professors known for their elite technical level and strong focus on real-world self-defense.
Looking at this photo, I find this certification approach brilliant for preserving the roots of the gentle art.
What’s your take on this? Is this the ultimate standard for Jiu-Jitsu preservation, or is it too exclusive? Let’s hear your thoughts below! 👇

Accreditation for what? Where are the details on this?

Why? Is this the second coming of the IBJJF? Why do high level black belts from a respected lineage need this? it just doesn't make much sense other than laying the foundation to make some money.

Accréditation pour quoi ? Où trouver plus de détails ?
This accreditation focuses specifically on Rickson Gracie’s self-defense methodology and foundational details, rather than replacing traditional lineages or IBJJF belts. It’s a selective mentorship program to preserve his specific approach. You can check his official platforms (JJGF / Rickson Gracie Academy) for full details and updates.

I love it. I wish there was an accredited instructor/school or GU near me!

I was the first to get an RGU garage approved. They sent Rickson’s self defense curriculum with the welcome email. It’s pretty cool.

I’m a member of Rickson’s Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation (JJGF) and I’m a big fan of both his and Chris Burns’ instructional material (Chris is the guy on the far right in the photo in the original post). Every time I watch one of Rickson’s or Chris’ videos, I learn some little detail that vastly improves the way I execute a technique. If you join JJGF, they’ll give you full access to Rickson’s entire instructional library for free for one month (and I think my yearly membership was only $12, so it was not a bad deal). Chris has some excellent instructional videos on The BJJ Project (including a free intro course).

Henry Akins is one of my favorite to watch. I always get something new from his instructionals. I like coaches that teach in concepts or mechanisms. Rickson is also great for the details.

Rickson.Academy is actually pretty awesome. A lot of great content.
