If you are owner/manager of an academy and do not yet have five verified colored belt students on here, I can manually activate your academy profile and make you administrator for now, to get the ball rolling on this. All I ask is that you have a minimum of 5 students registered and are willing to put in some time to build a proper academy profile. Not interested in empty or half-empty ones here, then we might as well not have them :)
Academy administrators can approve coaches, students and other administrators, as well as fill out general/contact details on academy. Down the road, there will be more academy specific functionality.

I have more than five students blue belt or higher, verified etc but it still won’t let me claim administrator for Buffalo BJJ

It's only these three of the verified academy members above blue belt who are confirmed students on your profile, that's why :)

You're the only one registered with your academy at the moment, we ask minimum 5 profiles to manually activate at this point :)

I'd be happy to put the work in for New Wave Academy, I think if students can see that their academy profile is up and running and looking good it may help encourage sign up.

Yeah I don't think it would look nice here with lots of empty or half empty academy profiles, so they're only for those who have invested some effort in the site first :) :)

My academy has a number of students registered and even verified, but some students put down Vickery Jiu-jitsu and MMA, while others have it listed as Vickery Jiu-Jitsu & MMA. As a result, we aren’t grouped together under the same academy link. Can that be fixed?
Technically, I think it would be best if we were standardized under Vickery Jiu-Jitsu & MMA, if at all possible. That’s how our logo reads.
Also, can I make a request that I and/or Patrick Moran (https://beltchecker.com/p[...]hp?id=7073) be given admin roles for an academy profile, please? Patrick and I share admin duties on our academy’s Facebook group page, so we would like to continue to collaborate together here as well. If you decide to hand it off to Pat based on his rank, that’s fine. He’ll share roles with me afterward. I’ll do the same for him if you assign them to me. Whichever approach works for you will work for us.

Jesse >> I've changed everyone to be "Vickery Jiu-Jitsu and MMA". At some point, I had to implement a check on academy names that replaced "&" with "and" due to some technicalities. Those of your members who registered before this check had the &.

I know this isn't really related to this post directly, but in the future we might make an academy profile. I've managed to convince a couple people from my gym to join the site. It's taking awhile for their profile photo verification, is it because of the surge of new profiles after the IBJJF ban?

No, we're working pretty fast on the moderator side of things, usually less than an hour. They should go to their verification- or notification page and check status of their uploaded image. It's very (VERY) common that people don't read the requirements, upload something wrong and then don't notice it was rejected and think they just have to keep waiting :)

Five verified, colored belts is the system requirement (then the site will automatically offer you to claim the profile). But for now, to get things rolling, I'll manually verify academies with a a handful of serious profiles. The only thing I want to avoid is that we end up with a bunch of non-serious, half empty academy profiles.

it's pretty funny how we train a martial art that is known for taking years, where attention to detail and patience is vital. But when it comes to filling out our profile, everyone turns into cavemen who bang their head on the keyboard.
